Formula 1 2022

I'm calling Hamilton will be here next season. Depending on how it finishes it maybe his last.

He wants the title he feels he's owed. If his team get their shit together he could well get it.

If Red Bull aren't in contention it will be the fault of the "Draconian punishment." Which Karen Horner will parrot every race whilst accusing the leaders of cheating. Be it Mercedes, Ferrari or an outside bet like McClaren.l
And yet the cheating ( overspend) could be seen as having a part in what helped them win the last 2 championships ..

Verstappen just too good. He's been ridiculously consistent and has made it look too easy this year.
He’s been superb this year, that car is amazing and I still struggle to understand how they got it so right from the start when everybody else struggled. Adrian Newey has come to the fore this season.

All season, you just knew that whatever the opposition did, RB just had to turn up the wick to move away from their rivals. I still think that there‘s an extra couple of seconds in that car, which they may show us in the last couple of races.

I think we need to understand that the sport is no longer controlled by the teams, it’s what the broadcaster wants and they want a certain outcome at the moment.

It‘s not like City getting banned and having to fight tooth and nail, this is more like Real, Barca, United or Liverpool getting a slap on the hand for failing miserably.

The caveat to that though is that although the middle order has been more interesting this year, the broadcasters don’t tend to focus on it and the front of the grid has been pretty boring for a while now.

The truth is that for many seasons there has been one team that sits at the top. In my early days there were many different winners but then cam e the McLaren era which sort of changed that. Williams, Benetton, Ferrari, Redbull and Mercedes have all had control so it’s been a matter of looking at which driver stood out.

That’s where the likes of Hamilton and Verstappen stand out. They drive like no other, with the will to win but different in their own styles. For me, Hamilton is the old style, gentleman on the track, whereas Verstappen is the ever dangerous driver who gets you out of your seat, shouting at him for being so reckless. That changed this year.

It’s almost like there’s a connection with breaking the spending cap and improved performance.

Mercedes have been too conservative in the last 2 races. In both Max finished the race and won comfortably against Lewis who was running a harder compound. It’s not just Ferrari who need to up their strategy game
