How many people on here were actually vocal on here when Franny took over from Swales ....anybody admit to actually standing outside the main entrance to the ground singing Swales Out .... I was one ..... not sure now if it was actually an improvement ...we did get Kinkladze but also Alan Ball and Frank Clarke ...... trying to remember the 2 guys who were Franny's main backers .....

Yep I was outside the main gates demonstrating and went to loads of meetings, still got loads of the literature they were giving out. Colin Barlow ex-blue was with him.

Me too, one of the Swales out brigade. It was the right thing to do but Franny didn't do us any favours. Sacked Horton who played some great football without giving him a chance. From there on was utterly shite at running the football club. HOWEVER!! bought us Georgi Kinkladze, so all is forgiven. If I ever see another player with so much skill in a City shirt my life will be complete.

You will when Isco signs next week :)

Yeah, me too. I remember g at the time there wasn't actually THAT many people who turned up I expected much more.

Didn't stop the fucking Sun giving out posters and plastic hats emblazoned with "Forward with Franny". Leeches.

Was it not The Mirror who did the hats etc

Some journo called Alec Johnson backed franny big time

I never went demonstrating but was there away to Leicester in late 80s when the Swales out banner first appeared

I don't think kippaxman supports Real Madrid.

I was glad to be part of the Forward With Franny campaign. I am also proud that I was part of getting rid of Peter Swales, the worst thing to happen to MCFC IMO.

Me. And two of my mates.

At the time, taking part in those demos outside the main entrance, we felt like the mutts nuts, thinking we were making a difference..........However seeing those demos in Turkey........THATS how to demonstrate.

Swales out!

Yep, I was there. Outside the Main Stand when Swales wouldn't come out.
We were singing 'Put your Whisky down and face the lads!'

Oh and 'Sack the Board' of course!

I remember Richard keys hosted a debate on sky at Maine road John (mad axe ) maddocks was on it with I think Rodney marsh, I've got on video somewhere, this, while all this shit was hitting the fan, anyone remember it, it was live on sky.

I remember being a young whipper snapper demonstrating outside the Main Stand straight after the Coventry game. The security guards locked the main blue gates to stop it being stormed, although I'm certain a few barriers got thrown in that direction. I'm convinced that those actions to rid ourselves of Swales set in motion the rewards we got 13th May 2012. Any young fans need to thank their lucky stars that their Fathers and Grandfathers made a stand all those years ago :)

It was the Mirror that fronted the campaign in the press, not The Sun.

I remember it kicked off outside the main entrance of Maine Road after one game - if Swales had come out the crowd would have had him swinging from a lamppost!
Wasn't there a vicar who got involved?
Hey - great days! The kids supporting us today have no bloody idea!

Correct. IIRC they had a huge pull out souvenir thingy when Franny finally took control.

Happy days eh? :)
