Frank Clark as Manchester City manager

Cold sweats when I read that, thought he'd come back!!

I was too young to remember specifics, but I remember an advert on TV with him sat in his car (might have been outside Maine Road?) saying that the first he'd heard about his sacking was on GMR on the way to a meeting. Am I right or horribly wrong?

His final game in charge was a home defeat iirc.

It became his final game as City boss because at the end of the game Dennis Tueart said to him "what's going on?" and he said "I just don't know." (allegedly) which was the final nail in the coffin.

TOSSER!!!! total idiot when it came to football knowledge how he ever made a manager is completely beyond me,now that was a shit time been a city fan boys let me tell yer,and people moan when were drawing 0-0 to brum at home, just think back to them happy days ;-)

Remember him well, used to say `stabilty` quite a lot, he got us out of the mire that season but tbh I was never convinced he was right for the job and had us playing the right way, sure he got sacked and we got relegated the next season ?

Glory be. I think I actually sent him a letter, hoping for a period of stability at the club. Fat lot of good that did!

As a young 13 year old I did exactly the same, the first and last City manager I have ever wrote to, fair play I got a reply as well. Thought he did ok at Forest and thought he'd be good at City, but nope........he was shite.
