Let's be honest.Frank was like the rest of the so called golden generation
Great for their clubs bang average at international level.

They definitely underperformed at international level. That 2010 squad, in particular. Going out in the round of 16 was abysmal. A side with the likes of Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Terry, SWP, James and Milner should not be going home before the q/f.

The stats show we were down to ten men as Zabaleta had been sent off. Chelsea then went 1-0 up.

Met Frank in Blooms bar NYC the day after he debuted over there..
Asked for the obligatory selfie..
He asked who I supported to which he replied i loved playing for your club.
An absolute lovely guy with a proper touch of class

I met him literally a few days before he signed for us when we were in pre-season over there. His 'people' were mithering him to get off and he told them to give him a minute 'cos he's talking to these lads.

Lampard was twice as talented as the rest of that England side put together.

As you say, if he’d have played for the rags or dippers he’d have been held up as the best player in the world.

Along with Del Piero, Lampard was my dream City 00s signing...when all we had were dreams. Great to see him play for us even at the end of his career - and he still added value on and off the pitch.
