Free coaches.

I haven’t been on a bus or coach since I made the mistake of leaving the seat next to me empty when on a bus on Birmingham and a stinking of piss old tramp got on and sat next to me for 20 mins! Never again.
What a lovely story. Bless the poor old man struggling through life and managing to keep going.
The down side is you travelling by car everywhere stinking out the atmosphere for a little more than 20 minutes.

Remember once being on a long coach journey sat next to this old timer. He never fcking shut up. He was interesting mind talking about his war tales and everything but after a while was a bit of a grind. When he got off though he said thanks for listening. Said he lived on his own and doesn't get the chance to speak to people. Respect!

I used to sit next to an old boy in the Main Stand back in the 80s. Following little more than nods of acknowledgement, we started having a chat after about three seasons in the same seats.

He never shut up after that, pre-match, half time, post-match, but hardly anything during the game. We had a lot of laughs and moans over pies and pints over a couple of seasons, but one game, his seat was empty and he never came again.

I like to think that he just wanted a move and still goes 40 years later. If he's at Wembley today, he'll be about 115 years old.

Yes you never know the back stories of people. Identified a few days ago about a young woman who was too noisy on the train. It turned out she was homeless and was desperate for a bed for that night.
After the Liverpool match an old boy on crutches was talking about the free coaches. He wasn't the smartest dressed person and we aware of his presence in the lift.
I don't know his circumstances but he might have been living in lodgings where bath's are restricted. He might not have been able to get in and out of a bath.
All l know was he wasn't well off but he was determined to get to the match to see the Blues. I think l can be forgiving in those circumstances.
