Because we're not that desperate? Especially given your two examples.

Mandzukic hates Pep.

We really missed a trick with Cavani, huge shame. We maybe aren't Sturridge level of desperate but we certainly should do whatever it takes to get our hands on a backup striker this january.

If we plan to go big on one this summer, and with the probability it will be difficult to bring our target it now in january, we really should be exploring the loan option. What about Edin??? He seems to be linked away from Rome every window. Considering we dont really need a world-beater this season but just someone to step up and be comfortable centrally when Aguero and Gabby is out, which is too often, what about Mariano at Madrid? Im sure they would gladly do a loan-deal for him.

Another option from left-field is onr that has flopped in the Prem recently, but I wouldn't mind giving Higuain a go on a short-term deal. He is actually one that if we got him going he could genuinly end up be a bit of a suprise for us. He has had some barren seasons with questions about his fitness (not injury record, more about his love for food) but tbf to him he has been really unlucky with the teams he has played in lately, Juventus when they started scoring less, Milan just before they actually started to get good, shit Chelsea side, now back at a average Juve side. He definitely has the ability to do a job here, and wont be too hard to do a deal for him I think

We don't desperately need a striker. We have two and we have torres and sterling who Pep is more than happy to play upfront. We also have the option of Bernardo or foden in a false 9. Our strikers aren't missing a tonne of glaring chances, we're not creating much for them, thats the problem and the root of that lies further back in midfield.

we don't have 2 strikers do we ? its aguero and that's its ? the rest are wingers in sterling and torres then jesus is better in a 3 out wide. the need for that striker a fox in the box and a player that will pick up the bits and knock downs we just don't have ??
