Ok I am losing the will to live now so am hoping some one can advise.

I have Sky tv in my back room-Works no problem at all and if I want to watch free view on the back tv I just amend my source.

In the front room I have a normal digital tv with no Sky box however I have a cable running from the back room out of the house and into the back of my tv aerial point in the front room so I can watch Sky and change channel with the sky remote via the magic eye attached to my tv. So in Essence I do not have a normal aerial cable running from the back of this tv to the aerial point in the wall in the front room as the built in aerial is via the eye for Sky and free to air.

When I change my source on the front room tv to normal digital tv many of the free view channels are showing as not available-very very annoying.
To test it isn't the tv,I took out the remote eye and, attached a normal aerial from the aerial point on the wall to the tv - Did a full channel scan and all 100 plus free to air tv channels were available to watch with no problem. As soon as I take this normal aerial out and reconnect the aerial which is built in to the magic eye it completely loses signal like it is not strong enough to pick up the free to air channels with the aerial in the magic eye.
So in essence when I have a normal aerial attached I have no problem.
When I have the magic eye attached and try to watch free to air channels through my tv it just says many are not available.

I was wondering if there are any tv techies who could help.

Cheers in advance

Not a tv techie but we have the same magic eye thingy. In order to get freeview I think your tv needs a normal aerial connection as well?

But the magic eye connector at the end of the magic eye is in the tv where the normal aerial goes pal so where would I put the normal aerial mate-If I take the eye out then I can't watch Sky?
The daft thing is it sometimes picks up the channels but then they just dissapear and say they are not available.

Is it possible there are different settings on tv again no expert think they may be AV settings but that maybe just my telly

Definitely not. I have checked all the settings etc and they are fine.It is something to do with the aerial

On the rear of your Sky digital receiver there is an aerial input, an aerial output (for connection to your TV) and an extra output on the back for connection to a second TV set. This second connection is named the RF2 Out.

Once setup via the Skybox Menu (like below) this RF2 output will send a 9volt supply to power and control your Sky Magic Eye. The role of any amplifiers is to amplify/boost the signal and make sure correct control of the Sky Magic Eye.

If you connect your aerial into the aerial in socket on the back of the sky box you will also receive the aerial signal to all connected TVs!

Any probs just give me a shout via PM and i'll try and help

Good Luck!
