On FDJ Ajax still hold a few cards... Think your right with that value though I wouldn’t touch him for anything over £60 million and that is pushing it. Don’t get me wrong I think he is good but he looks very lightweight to me . I like ndombele. Neves. And would love kante befor de jong

I like Ndombele and Kante but not a fan of Neves - good at set pieces but simply not good enough in open play.

He had a few good touches but with 10 men he had no chance of making an impact with the way we dominate possession. He blocked off passing angles well but we need more, we need someone who can press and win possession back. Not saying he isn’t capable but he’s not been able to show that quality tonight.

That's because he is hugely overrated based on a season where he shined in the Championship.

FDJ shits all over him in terms of vision,composure and technical ability.

I agree. He's very slow and his awareness of midfield runners is poor. Great passing range but mobility is not a strength. I was a massive fan but he's not for us imho. I have Wolves fans in the family and they adore him, but they accepted their best recent PL performance was away at Newcastle where he was left out.

Not quite what he said, I think. He intimated that we wouldn't pay 100million on one player and that there are many midfielders who can play the solo role. We may yet break our spending record. :-)
I agree, however, in that I don't think we will buy de Jong, still think he'll end up in Paris. Our intention was to have someone more experienced (Jorginho) in place this season, evidently with an eye to winding Fernandinho this year and next. Guardiola also mentioned the difficulty of mastering the position in England, so I expect us to go for someone a little more experienced and in our price range but also to bring Douglas Luiz back from Girona, should he qualify for a permit.
