He'd be great as Gundogan's long-term replacement and could be the versatile midfielder we need it might be perfect, if Barca sign Kessie like has been pretty much the talk almost as if it's set in stone these past couple months then DeJong is probably on his bike. Franck Kessie usually gets further forward than FDJ but could sit deeper and Barca have Pedri or Gavi or Nico Gonzalez too that they'll prioritise over him, honestly can't see where they'd play Kessie as a definite starter so personally I think they want him as a Yaya Toure/Seydou Keita important utility type, just mainly cover all over he'd be nowt beyond valuable rotation player it could be a foolish move for Kessie, especially if he expects major game time but it could also be the main reason to think Frenkie DeJong is leaving too.
I'm not sure it's even still a thing Kessie to Barca but plenty (the media) seemed certain about it a while back, whether or not it plays into our hands for FDJ with Raheem's contract winding down remains to be seen but even if Sterling stays the £59m figure isn't a crazy amount, he could move anywhere DeJong but even an outright bid from us shouldn't be ruled out, remember we were seriously prepared to outlay the costs last summer for Kane to go with Grealish... And we'll be raising plenty of funds with player sales regardless usually anywhere between £60m-£100m if not even more, so all things considered we could easily afford to get both DeJong and Haaland if we want when you think Kane was meant to happen last year.
I'm not saying it's all simple but with player sales combined with Fernandinho's freed wages as well as Ferran Torres wages and fee too, then consider the fact Aguero freed wages never got laid out to his replacement then why can't we have both?
