FSA survey on VAR

And PL rep says - " yes we're considering this .............................................and will get back to you sometime in the future ".

My submission for what it's worth:

"VAR is not the problem. The application of VAR is the problem.

VAR should be independent of the referees, not staffed by referees who don't want to go against their mates on the pitch.

VAR decision making is not objective, offsides aside. Explain the recent non-penalty on Man City's Phil Foden? No-one, not even opposing fans, has any doubts about it being a penalty and a clear and obvious error - apart from the faceless, unaccountable VAR controllers. Why?

Why does VAR support the embarrassing screaming of grown men trying to con their way to penalty from the most innocuous of touches?

Why does VAR not acknowledge that the ref has a split second to make a decision and it is not an outright criticism if VAR sees something that the ref did not. Equally VAR should not be endorsing incorrect decisions made by referees by remaining silent.

The "Clear and Obvious" decision process is not working and is perceived as bias towards some teams.

VAR communications should be transparent and discussions available to be heard by fans - even if made available retrospectively."

It's pointless. Regardless of what we, the supporters think, nothing is going to change until everything is open and above board. The way it stands we might as well have Russia or North Korea running the game - in other words accountable to nobody.
The recent Foden non-penalty is just one prime example of how rotten to the core the whole sport is. The whole world could see it was a penalty, but it's not given and no one is held accountable. If Phil had been wearing red it would definitely have been given...no question.

Var itself is great, but the way it is being applied is a huge slap in the face of us supporters.

Pitch-officials and VAR should be mic’d up and should be used over the speaker systems in stadiums so everyone can hear what is being said. VAR should also be shown on the screens in the stadium so fans in the ground know what the hell is going on.

A representative from Pigmol should also have to come out with an interview each week and be held responsible for decisions that have been made.
