Fulham (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Win aside, I dislike the grass mown at theirs. The ball lost speed bounced off the pitch. Our passes were easier to intercept and when we did do diagonal long balls the ball bounced tighter than our players so they overran the ball.

Pedantic yes but felt our play lacked the accurate passes.

Thought Gundo was excellent, probably our MOTM. Rodri had one of them tired games but kept going. Alvarez was Alvarez, what we expect, Eddie looked uncertain. Mahrez couldn’t be arsed. Haaland never stopped even when he was running on fumes.
job done.

That was not even close to the standards of a title winning side, but it was exactly how sides win titles.

2-1 flattered them, they had one chance and buried it.

Striking Viking could have had one early doors in the second half, but this was a totally differenct performance from the Arsenal game. There we had everything to win against a team with the pressure on, today we had everything to lose against a team with nothing to lose.

That was nervy, not helped by some stupid goalkeeping from Ederson, thought he'd stopped that idiotic charging out when the defender had control of the situation.
Brilliant from the lads, superb goal from Alvarez, could have had a 3rd before the serious injury seemed to disrupt our flow.
Thereafter, scratchy scrappy performance but we dug in. Points are all that matters now.
Jack has been acting oddly in the last 2 games, getting involved in stupid spats...could have been sent off today.
Top of the table, looks good after where we have been in this league campaign.

Looked a lot leggy which isn’t great considering we have 3 games in 6/7 days coming up including Real away.

Don't know what's harder, following City or following the total fanny-wipes on the match thread! Solid 3-points, tough away fixture navigated, two very winnable home matches to cement our position at the TOP of the table!
I have no idea why people moan about the match thread. It’s worse at the game with people flapping and shouting nervous and overexcited comments. The match thread is just a watered down online version of being at the game.

Important 3 points that takes us to the top. Very tired performance though in the 2nd half. Gundogan could hardly run by the end, surely Lewis or Phillips could have replaced him for a bit more energy.

Very sloppy play out of defence at times and we caused more problems for ourselves than Fulham did.

At this stage though, the points are the most important thing and we got them, so can't be too unhappy.

We seemed to give them space to play in the second half while they were closing us down as soon we got the ball. Almost role reversal from how we usually play. Having said that it could have been much more comfortable if not for some very good saves from shots from Grealish and Haaland. Anyway no complaints from me. 3 points and no injuries is all that matters at this stage.

The Boys in Blue didn't give in they fought to the end. Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans.
You showed 'em, you showed 'em all, Especially those Southern Softies who were Ful(ham) of themselves, especially the biased, stupid, Specsavers needing media.

THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD.

I am still mortified and humiliated that I missed all the first half and can't apologise enough. *bows head in shame*
