Fulham (A) Post Match Thread

First off I hope Fulham do not go down, its so good to see a team who actually wants to play football, managed by a young Englishman. They kept trying to play and they deserve enormous credit for that, i would much rather they stayed up than a team that puts everyone in their own area all match, hoping to snatch a 89th minute goal from a set piece. Them and Brighton both try and play the right way and I admire that.

Anguissa for them was superb, i liked the look of him. Felt a bit for Tosin giving that Pen away, the lad is a Blue and I want him to do well.

Now we are at the business end of the season, it was important we got game time in to players legs and both Mendy and Kun will benefit from that. Sergio didnt look as sharp as he normally is but we know it can take him a couple of games before that comes so last night was really important in that respect. Mendy did well, he is another who needs games, because I think with a run of games he can be a real threat and his athleticism could serve us well.

I also liked the back 3 , all of them are footballers and can bring the ball out of defence, Stones with his goal return is turning into Sergio Ramos which is high praise, i rate Ramos highly. It was also telling that Fulham didn't have a shot on target, which for all their decent build up play shows how well we defended.

One of the criticisms aimed at Pep is he doesn't have a plan B , last night we saw it and I liked it, yes it took a while to get functioning properly but once it did it really suited us.

Jesus looked as sharp as I have seen for him ages (wish he would stop mard arsing) and he benefits from playing with Kun, which playing a back 3 allows.

Finally a word on Torres, he is only a kid in a new league, but he has bags of potential, gets in good positions and i think we have a good one in him.

14 points from 8 games and we are champions. 2 more points and Liverpool can not win the league. I never expected us to be in this position after that defeat to Leicester
I could have written that myself, absolutely spot on. I really hope Fulham don't go down, for the same reasons. A good battling side and that Anguissa stopped everything and everyone City threw at him, a great player.

and the more i see of Scott Parker, the more i like him. I think he more than filled his potential as a player through hardwork and applying himself, seems to be doing the same as a manager

The team and management deserve huge praise for yesterday. There were several potential risks to the way we set up with a few players being thrown in after not playing for a while. Fulham have shown over the last month or so that they are no mugs, so to go and perform at such a high standard for much of the game is a credit to them.
Sure, it took a little while to get into the game and that was to be expected to some degree, but once we settled we were excellent I thought.
Its also given many opposition managers a headache as they were finally thinking they'd worked us out (formation wise only) now they are back scratching their heads wondering what the fuck to expect next.
We are absolutely the luckiest fan base in football to have Pep at the helm.
