Fulham (A) Post Match Thread

Before the game I fully expected a routine win, but in the first half I thought Fulham were excellent. If Lookman had a left foot, I do think they might have sneaked a goal. As others have said, it's refreshing to watch a team try to play football. I thought to myself, if I was a Fulham player I'd want to be showing Pep that I can play football instead of busparking and hacking our players down. They do seem to be finding maybe just enough form to pull out of the bottom 3 as well and it could be at the expense of the worst busparkers - except united - Newcastle.

Second half, we just clicked and after a great finish from Stones it was just a matter of how many really. It was good to see Aguero score. I was shocked to find out that he didn't score any goals whilst he was injured and unable to play. Even more incredibly, when the league was postponed because of corona, he didn't even score for us then either! It boils my piss listening to these clowns, I should watch the game on mute.

One thing I'm not a fan of is changing formations. We've been on a phenomenal run recently and I don't know why we needed/decided to play 3 at the back against Fulham. When players come into the team, like Mendy, they should be coming into a system that the other players know so that they can guide him through the game. Of course, I bow down to Pep's judgement, but I do feel uneasy when he does this and I'm hoping we're not saving 3 at the back against Real etc later in the season.

Overall, great job done and another step closer to the title!
I agree, and the first half backed that up.It was probably more a case of finding a one off solution to getting a few players, who needed game time,on the pitch, rather than a long term thing.

As recent unwanted rumour suggests,it cant be easy managing all these players, and finding them game time, when they would be first names on the sheet at other clubs.

Really getting pissed off with the commentary on every one of our games now.
We've scored the most
Conceded the least
And hold the English all time record for consecutive wins.
So worthiest champions ever

Yet they whisper our goals in and spend the game digging at us

Fucking wankers the lot of them
But we are not Liverpool, all I hear is they have dominated the EPL........really? So winning it once, between what should be our three wins, is dominating??

Mitrovic on his day can give any centre half in the league a tough time the centre back knows he's in a game if he sees Mitrovic starting. You would think he has to start him, Every time Fulham are under pressure they have no out ball to take the pressure off for a few minutes throughout games, Mitrovic would do that job with his eyes closed.

Loftus Cheek is absolutely shit.
Mitrovic is the Serbian Andy Carroll.

Great work by Pep I think. Our first goal was from a free kick on the left touchline with Mendy lined up to take it. Cancello was on the right touchline but something or somebody told him to go the width of the pitch to take it and what a cracker it was.
Very considerate. It saved some poor defender from getting a sore shin.

That's what I think. He picked that team and formation around Aguero and Mendy - with two up front we rely less on Sergio's pressing and with three at the back Mendy is playing with security behind him. It allowed him to rest Gundo, KDB, Foden and Mahrez who are essential to the team and will be its core on Tuesday. It was bold management really, weakening our attacking options, but it paid off because we won easily.

If we'd needed goals in that second half I'm sure he's have taken a defender off and replaced them with a match winner.

Think Cancelo was always on set-piece duty. The first corner we got Cancelo was on the move towards the far corner flag to take it but then advised Mendy (who'd won the corner) that he might as well take it to save time.
