At the way that some teams are playing you can play on both sides being a fullback. Now your seeing players over and under lapping going forward. Look at the best fullbacks did not matter if it was left or right fullback they could play it. Also Pep is currently playing with 2 midfielders in full back roles so of course this is a option if the player is good enough.
Just because its physically possible doesn't mean you show up as a team struggling to find form especially on the road and roll the dice chucking a player clearly lacking confidence into an unfamiliar position.

I don’t have solution. It’s a very hard one at this moment. The team must rest the only CM Nico G as he has played too many hours in a short turnaround. For the ones to be CM in Fulham game, a make shift is Stones. There is not a second alternative.
O’Riley cannot play CM now. In the future he would be able to. He is still too brave and lack of passing vision/skill to do CM.
Gvadol doesn’t have any attribute to be a CM apart from his physical presence. Bernardo is not a CM and will never be for his lack of ability to keep the ball in the center of our half court. Rico was supposed to be a CM but he has been disastrous in that role so better don’t risk it.
Pep might give up control of midfield too. But that will drain the energy from players too fast and will leave trouble for later games.
When both Rodri and Kova are back, City will crush over any team. Them and Nico G are among the best few CMs in European top leagues.
That’s a Big WHEN???!!!

And I am not sure that it will help my stress levels,WHEN I watch them tomorrow night in the Flesh at The Cottage :0)

But they will get my Full VOCAL backing at all times :0)

Good :0) and Bad :0(

COME ON CITY!!!!

All these teams heavily rotated are way off of it in my opinion. If he does that, it'll be Sunderland on Saturday before a trip to the Bernabau.

I would only expect between 1-3 changes tomorrow, it won't be a repeat of Leverkusen.

You're somehow talking about fullbacks, but without any reference to whether they can f*cking DEFEND or not!

Simply placing a player's name in LB or RB position in a lineup graphic does not make them a defender. It's not an afterthought, it requires one of the most difficult skillsets of any position. A proper pair of full backs and we really would be a completely different team.

Are you in Pep's recruitment team, by any chance? :-)

I'd love a 20 game unbeaten run for Xmas & New Year...Come on City...show your quality and put the fear of the ghost of scrooge into the rest of Europe....we all know you can do it...Just watch that move from City's corner flag to the viking for Haalands headed opener versus Liverpool...one of the best team goals in football history.

Only players i'd consider bringing into the team are Stones, Ait-Nouri and Cherki. Marmoush outside chance.
Why do people keep namimg Ait Nouri, not a chance I'd chance him in a tough away game.

Minutes off the bench in a home game if we are winning well.

No time for fucking about with someone who has done nowt, looks half arsed and will be protecting himself for Afcon.

Mix it up a bit..................

They were away to a London team on Saturday evening, so no real travel time.
As Fulham are at home tomorrow, it's not a bad turnaround.
City will have much more travel time being away from home...
These quick turn arounds though, must mess with the planning for both sides.

Anyone with a knock won't be able to prepare right.

In the embargoed section of the press conference Pep was asked about Foden's goalscoring, Foden's contract and goals from all parts of the team. Pep briefly mentioned that Reijnders has been unlucky not to score. There was nothing that I expect would make headlines.

Last season we beat Forest and then dropped points away to Palace. We really can’t afford to be dropping points tomorrow. Fulham haven’t been as good this season, competitive without getting the results until the weekend. Our away form isn’t good enough and needs to improve now.

I think we’ll see some changes tomorrow, possibly Stones and Khusanov for Nunes and Gvardiol. Think Cherki could play with more freedom with Khusanov covering in behind. Would be happier to see a bit more physicality beside Nico in midfield but we don’t have it with both Rodri and Kovacic injured.

More than anything else we need to take our chances, in many games this season we’ve been excellent first half but wasteful and allowing teams grow into matches. Happened against Brighton, Brentford, Newcastle and Leeds off the top of my head. We need to rediscover a ruthless streak that we found in all of our title winning seasons and soon before we fall too far behind.
