Posted this in another thread, but thought I'd stick it in this forum in case any blues planning on going to the game by train/tube missed it.
Putney Bridge tube, nearest to Craven Cottage, is closed on the day of the game (Sunday, September 18, 3pm) , according to the Transport for London website. Planned engineering works on the District Line (the green one) mean there are no tubes on the Saturday or Sunday from Parsons Gren to Wimbledon, which includes Putney Bridge.
Tubes terminate at Parsons Green, which is aapparently a fair old hike to the ground.
The best alternative seems to be Victoria line south from Euston to Vauxhall, and then transfer to the Vauxhall overground rail station for South West trains services to Putney Rail Station. Or the Northern Line south to Waterloo and pick the trains up at the start. Services every 10-15 minutes or so. Just across the bridge, a few minutes on from the tube station, so its a slightly longer walk, but may be quicker than the tube anyway. Estimated journey time from Euston is 30 minutes.
Plenty of trains coming back as well.
Hope this helps, blues.
After Seven Sisters tube was also shut for the Spurs game last Sunday, I'm convinced a rag is running the London Underground...
