Never heard of this word until about 2 weeks ago, now hear and see it all the time.... anyhow, I have been furloughed until May 31st.

Anyone else also in the same boat? Any ideas what you will be doing during that period.... can’t imagine many places will be open before the end of May, so for me personally, when I get spare time from looking after my daughter, a bedroom needs decorating as another baby is on the way, fence panels need painting, planters need some attention, and will try and do courses relating to my job in order to show I have been pro active in improving my worth to the company. When the government help is over, some companies will struggle to keep everyone on if their revenues are still suffering, so anything I can do to improve will hopefully help should they have to make redundancies.

ive been furlough for the last 5 days, just another 85 days to go,ive been doing 1 job a day that's needed doing but lack of time, first 4 days did the decking ,patio and grass and sorted all the garden furniture id been meaning to throw away, gave the bathroom a fucking cleaning of biblical proportions ,yesterday I even cleaned out the cutlery draw in the kitchen, tomorrow if I can get hold of a big stiff one (brush , you dirty fuckers) my driveway is going to get the treatment(me and my daughter saw a big stiff brush on the back of a builders van parked up,if I cant get hold of one legally ,we said we would go on a mission ,haha

If you are furloughed does that stop you from (say) signing up to stack shelves at supermarkets? Or does that stop the furloughed payment?
You can't take another paid job unfortunately you can only do voluntary work, I asked the same question.

I was officially furloughed last Friday and I'm on full basic pay at the moment. 20% of my salary is made up of bonuses, so the kibosh is on that for the time being
Wifey was furloughed on 80%, then was asked to work so at least she's out of the way Monday-Thursday

Every day I'm doing a 45 minute home workout and following a YouTube yoga course

As for jobs
My wardrobe and chest of drawers has never been as tidy and the garden is looking spick and span

Things to do
Our fourth bedroom is an office and it requires a really good sort out and decorating. There is a box in here that must have 20 old phones in it

Conservatory roof needs cleaning and the gutters. As a matter of interest, does anyone know of a tool that would help in clearing gutters? ;-)
Conservatory walls inside need painting
Patio, drive and outside paths want powerwashing
The gutters at the front of the house also need to be cleaned up

In a month's time I'm going to be living in a show house

It's the new buzz word on the streets.
It's actually in common usage in the states and also in the military where it has a slightly different meaning.
I'm 4 weeks in and mostly masturbating and drawing exponential graphs.

That's not right.

You can take on other paid employment if it doesn't breach your current contract with your employer.

However, you shouldn't do any paid work during the usual hours you are currently expected to work.
