I used that phrase about 9 months ago, it wasn’t well received - work rate and movement is good but he just doesn’t look a threat

When Aguero gets the ball he looks as though he wants to turn, face the goal and try to create a goal. Scoring seems the furthest thing from Jesus’s mind. All he seems to want to do is concentrate on controlling it, laying it off and occasionally get on the end of an over hit cross

He’s just not a threat
 
My lad and others who know me will tell you that IMO we have a very over-rated player who is no-where near the standard of Sergio.
I accept that the lad has scored a fair few goals,which have pulled us out of the shit,but lets be honest, the gap between him and Sergio is immense.

He looks a yard or two short of pace to me. He had a few opportunities to run away from defenders and couldn't manage it - and their CB's weren't that fast.

Also he never seems to be able to get across someone in the box and just get a foot on it, the defender just gets there first.

His flicks and one touch layoffs aren't coming off either.

I don't know what's wrong, if it's something to worry about or how to fix it, but he's miles away from his best.
 
He is using a lot energy closing down defenders but he isnt making the same runs off the ball like when he first came to the club , he is only a kid and will have ups and downs and its obvious Pep loves him because he hasnt had a decent game for a few months and is still getting plenty of game time. Sterling , Kun and Sane should be the regular starters up front at the moment , like a few Brazilian players i think the Premier league can be a bit of a slog for them , after his exertions in the World Cup and taken his age into consideration i would send him somewhere sunny for a couple of weeks to recharge his batteries , because in his current run of form we wouldnt miss him.
 
He's played much better in a two than as a sole striker and seems to have a decent understanding with Kun whenever they've played together. As a sole striker he looks a bit lost.
 
His passing is very inconsistent. His decision making likewise. And as others have pointed out he simply isn’t scoring.

His positional sense is good though and he work hard and closes down the play. I like him but he has to improve to justify starting.
 
he needs to show more and needs a goal to get going again for me. Still learning maybe more competition as in a extra striker might help us long term. He if he is Kun long term replacement will have to do a lot lot more.
 
Disappointed at present with him. He has been here now long enough to start showing his capability. Before anyone goes off on a rant back at me, i still believe he has buckets of talent. The issue here is that we are not seeing any of it out on the pitch.

The last time i saw him recieve the ball and actually take on 2 players and driving into the box was a while back that i cant remember who it was against - but that is what i want to see from him. Is he going to become just a goal poacher ? Because I had bigger ideas than that for this lad

Completely agree. I suppose you want to see progression and at the moment he’s nothing like the kid who joined us initially
