Some people have a different opinion to you, would you credit that, different people have different opinions. I've never heard the likes of it.

I do credit other people’s opinions. I come on here a message board to post what I think

Hes not good enough and regardless of how Pep tries to dress it up never will be. At some stage even the most optimistic amongst us will have to admit it. Hard to believe we have only one out and out top striker , not that long ago we had 4. Possibly a bigger more athletic type , just to give us sonething different could be an option.
I'm not sure about "never will be" - maybe he can turn things around - but that's a big "maybe" for me.

I'm honestly worried about Jesus.

Look... let's assume that it's 3 years from now and Aguero is either retired/sold/a shadow of his former self.

How confident is everyone that - in the future - Jesus is now our primary striker?

Lest you forget - let's compare Jesus' start with Aguero's. Or Tevez's. IMO both very worthy of starting in a world's best squad lineup.

Jesus... in comparison to those two - or numerous other top strikers... is nowhere near talented enough. Not even close.

On present form, Jesus isn't anywhere near a top, top striker, worthy of starting in the best squad in world football.

Backup striker? - maybe good enough - but we need to seriously start looking for a striker to replace Aguero - for me, Jesus is not anywhere near good enough.

Weirdly, I don't even think he's playing that badly. His finishing needs to improve but I think that's a confidence thing. His all round contribution to the team is great though.

And if that continues to be the case, City will do something about the striker situation.

But for now Jesus will be encouraged and played .

He's 21 mate, comparisons to Tevez and Aguero are misplaced and I'll repeat myself, the team maintains it's 3 goal average when he starts.

Would you agree that Jesus - at his best - isn't nearly as good as an average Tevez or Aguero?

Um... Kay.

I thought we were talking about whether or not Jesus is worthy of being a possible successor to Aguero in the best team in world football.

At this stage of his career possibly .
Agreed with possibly.

At the same time, the preponderance of evidence suggests very much otherwise.

Look - I wouldn't sell Jesus now - unless an extremely good offer came in. But I would absolutely pursue a top class striker to replace Aguero - because Jesus is very unlikely to be up to the task of being our first choice striker (not impossible mind you - but very unlikely).

However, I don't remember Aguero being shit hot at Atletico Medrid.

Atletico Madrid's game plan circa 2008-11 was basically "Give the ball to Aguero". He was their top goalscorer at 19.

You can't really compare anyone to Aguero though. Sergio is one of the best strikers of his generation, but without the injuries that hampered him, he'd be the best by an absolute mile. He was starting professional games at 15, he moved for €23m as an 18 year old in 2006, which to put it in context, is still the league's biggest transfer fee. He was a superstar from day 1.

How many on here regularly watched Aguero at Atletico at the age of 21? 2009/10 season for reference. I did, Jesus is better than he was at that age.
I love Jesus. But aguero at the same age in that season was an unbelievable talent and provided some big moments in big games . Was also named vc that season for his contributions .

He wasn't at that age. Very much the junior partner to Forlan in a 4-4-2, scored a fair few goals but his link up play was non existent (to the extent that passing him the ball when he wasn't in a shooting position was giving it away) and he did next to nothing out of possession.

22/23 was when he really started to tear things up and even then only in the goalscoring sense. People forget that even at 23 he was our second choice to Sanchez.

Some big moments but over 90 minutes game in game out he did fuck all really. He was a MOTD player at that age.

Time will tell . I am not going to say that he will not progress and improve under the tutelage of Pep .

It is quite likely that City are currently searching for the Aguero replacement, with Jesus being in the forward plan too.

That's exactly how I recall his play. Forlan was the main man.

At the same time, Jesus' performances aren't convincing. He might pan out - so don't sell him.

At the same time, it looks very much as if Jesus won't be a world class striker; pursue other options while keeping a possibly wrong impression of Jesus in the works.

Very few look WC at 21 mate as players that age are inconsistent and we've all seen the flashes of movement, link up and at times finishing to suggest Jesus has it there if he gets it to knit together consistently. Right now he's our junior striker and he's a fantastic junior striker.

Who is great at movement, contributes on defense, is a team player, and who's finishing has been extremely poor in spite of great chances for numerous games running.

Meanwhile, just how many years more does Kun have?
