He is a striker, he's just not a lone striker, and nor was Aguero at the same age, it was 4 seasons into his City career before he started always playing on his own up front in 14/15.

His problem is that he comes too deep to help out midfield. When there's 2 strikers it's wonderful, but when he's the only one it means he can win the ball but then there's no one to be passed to, he can't get back in position to get on the end of the move.

Mahrez and Sterling always coming short on their wrong sides is what makes it really ineffective, if you remember back in the day Sané, Jesus, Sterling was a great combination because as soon as Gabby dropped deep, those two would just gun it in behind.

The penalties thing is probably a self fulfilling prophecy at the moment. He has so much extra pressure because of his recent record. He should go away, work on his technique and try again in September.
Self fulfilling prophecy for Jesus? Was that Intentional lol.

I didn't watch the match so I can't comment on his overall performance but everyone knew beforehand that he is absolutely shite at penalties.

Even those he has managed to score I recall he's always skipped on his arse.

Pep needs to sort this pen situation out. It’s ridiculous that someone with his recent record is taking penalties.

He is no Aguero but he has been better recently for me.

World class as always...

His movements are phenomenal, just look at him - how he moves without the ball..

Future looks bright for the young Brazilian

Jesus is still learning some things..

In August he was fantastic...
Then in September-October his form started to decline..
In November-December-January he started to progress again and scored goals, made an assists.

FYI - 9 goals and 4 assists are more than Sterling`s 11 goals and 1 assist, so in overall he has better season in PL, even though he gets less minutes..

The only problem is confidence and at his age that's not the problem, he needs to live those bad moments, mistakes, missed chances and return stronger.

Next time he will score definitely..

No doubt that we have a world class player here...
