He is not an out and out centre forward though. He scores goals and creates goals and, in my view, the team functions better when he plays. You are comparing him with target men and he is obviously not that, nor do we necessarily need that.

I think he was probably trying to say that his play style is much more akin to a supporting striker; not a purebred striker. Yes, he is Brazil’s no.9 but his style isn’t that of a Lewandowski, Håland, etc.
