In what must stand as one of our coolest shirt launches yet, today we can unveil the new Manchester City home shirt for the 2012/13 season, worn by club captain Vincent Kompany and one of the club’s biggest fans, rock legend Noel Gallagher.

As they return to action as the reigning Premier League champions, Manchester City will be sporting this smart new shirt, Tailored by Umbro. To celebrate the launch of the new shirt, we brought together club captain Vincent Kompany with Noel at the Rock Werchter Festival in his native Brussels, Belgium. Legendary rock photographer (and MCFC fan) Kevin Cummins also came along with us and snapped this soon to be iconic shot of the two men together.

Bringing these Manchester City icons together is the perfect way to celebrate the wide variety of ways in which MCFC fans around the world have been helping us reveal the club’s new shirt through our Show Your City campaign.

Two months ago, we asked fans around the world to come up with ways in which they’d launch the new shirts, and we received hundreds of great ideas. Today, Noel and Vincent Kompany join the very best of these ideas that we’ve helped to bring to life. We'll have an amazing video for you to see later on today showing some of the amazing ideas we chose as our winners.

The new Manchester City home shirt will be available to pre-order from here on Umbro.com from Saturday 7th July, and it goes on sale on 26th July. Let us know what you think of the new shirts, and the exciting ways we’ve chosen to reveal it!

I weren't sure on the new kit at first, but it's looks quite smart there! Glad we're back to white shorts, interesting socks!

Gallagher & Kompany Launch New Kit!

Are they looking grumpy because our Australian mate was the first to launch it about fucking 10 weeks ago.

Minus the editing of height which makes the photo look ridiculously stupid, the captain should be dominating the image.
