Looks like they couldn't even be arsed in editing...again.

Just can't get over how rushed this whole season has been. I'd have rather waited a couple more years for a proper ending, or maybe a couple of extra seasons to break down the final season of shite we were served up.

The swirly sign was the sacred symbol of The Children of the Forest, who created the Night King to kill all the living.

So when he did, he left the symbol as a reminder that this was being done in their name.
