Mail this morning reporting that Javi is to be leaving us in the summer for one of Fernando - who seems to have signed a new contract with Porto for the purposes of making them a few extra bucks on the transfer, seeing as his agent is apparently saying he's nailed on for a move to the Premiership - or Matuidi, or Victor Wanyama, who was at least reasonable for Southampton before he did his knee.

Personally, it'd be Fernando for me. Some quick stats for digestion:

Fernando Francisco Reges - 26, 6'0 (Porto)
Blaise Matuidi - 26, 5'9 (PSG)
Victor Wanyama - 22, 6'2 (Southampton)

Whoever we pick, they should be a more than handy addition to the squad, especially considering it's been confirmed we're getting Zuccilini in in the summer.

Wouldn't mind bringing in two when you consider that Rodwell is permanently crocked and Yaya is 30.

We're already one short in CM, so if Garcia goes then we need two in. I'd avoid Wanyama like the plague, the guy is useless with the ball, nothing but a big guy who "puts himself about a bit", nowhere near the quality required. Fernando plus a more all round midfielder would do nicely.

Gotta take Zuccilini into account as well, I've got high hopes for the lad.

So it's, say, Fernando and Zuccilini in, do we then get another in, or hope for significant improvement from Huws/Evans/Glendon/Ntcham/Fofana to add those extra options? Fofana in particular looks an absolute jet in the making.

Of course, Rodwell could always come good...

I don't think Zuculini will play next year. It seems unlikely that he's going to leap from being a barely talked about player in Argentina to a starter for one of the worlds best teams. I'd be amazed if he isn't sent out on loan for a year

Portugal if I was to guess.......

Whoever we bring in a world class CM like Pogba or Gundogan, the two Benders or Khedira would be a welcome asset, as I doubt Yaya would have the legs to play 2 games a week. I think next year or the year after is the year we might phase Yaya out, and its going to be a hard task, players like Yaya are very few, or just not available.
