Gareth Bale

Bale has the potential to be the next Ronaldo.

Forget the tricks, for sheer power and explosiveness, he is already on a par.

He is wasting his talent at Spuds, he has the capacity to be scoring 15-20 goals a season from a wide position.

Phenomenal talent and also a perfect pro, and you can never have enough of those type in your team.
Apart from the diving of course

The other benefit if he comes here to sort of offset the injury thing is our backroom staff. We seem (touch wood) to suffer fewer injuries, maybe due to rotation also, than the other top teams which indicates a combination of the two? Properly looked after and not run into the ground, he could be an awesome signing.

Or gaining an advantage.......

The Rags probably got an extra 10 points this season from such 'tactics'.

Saying that,he's hardly in the Rooney,Young or our very own Mario stakes.

Gareth Bale is a player that needs to be rotated, he has problems with injuries and he tends to get very tired towards the end of the season.

The question is will he accept a rotation system? At tottenham he has played everytime he has been fit, and some british players like Lampard and Gerrard respond very poorly when their manegers rotate them.

Bale will be in the top ten attacking players in the next decade, but only if he is willing to be maneged in the right way.

So in order to extend his career he needs to be managed in the right way? Anyone with half a brain should be able to accept that.

Most footballers dont even have a quarter of a brain mate.

Diving is cheating, doesn't matter how you dress it up or how often you do it

I'm bored reading that people think Bale is overrated. Why not post that you know bugger all about football but are determined to have an opinion anyway? It's effectively the same thing.

The problem with Bale going to City is that his greatest abilities lie when he marauds up the sideline using his speed to beat his man and play crosses into the center. This just isn't a fantastic fit in our current squad, and his speed would be an underused asset as the majority of our possession is slow buildup. Also, Bale insists on coming in off the wing into the central attacking role, crowding the center of play, where his passing and dribbling skills are not sufficient to warrant his position there.

We need a creative central attacking midfielder who can come in and play a similar role to Nasri and Silva when one of the two is injured or in poor form, and ideally someone who can play decently on the wings as well as inside. Some of our greatest struggles this season came when Silva was in poor form and we lacked the passing creativity in the final third to open up our opponent. Bale probably is not the best provider of this final pass, and will certainly be more expensive than many other quality options.

And instead of telling people they don't know the game as well as you, prove it to them in your post.

I think Bale would be a great signing.

Take the point about his pace not always being an asset if we do not break quickly but even if we have a number of the opposition blocking our path to goal like QPR then he still can product quality crosses. Of course we would need to have someone in the box.

Maybe this signing would develop further options for Mancini on the pitch so its a yes for me.

Didn't realise he was so tall either. 6ft 1" - another good thing.

Wonder if he will start the new season with an Olympic Gold?

bale the next ronaldo, hulk an awful player - LOL

I would agree Bale has the potential to be as good as Ronaldo as he has all the qualities there. We shall see tho.

I do agree with the Hulk comments tho. He was a pile of shite against us. Looks a bit of a pansy. Ideal replacement for Drogba.

Players like Bale are a dying breed - Old school, fast, full on powerful winger.

He has all the attributes you need from a player and on his day he could get in any team in the world.

His price tag is typical Levy and because he is a British player he is being overlooked; if he was from south america we would be raving to get him. He could be the difference next season for us especially in the Champions League because we definatly need a top world class wide man and I think Bale is our man!

Might be of an odd one but going off the previous comments does anyone have the opinion that Bale could be converted into more of a striker/forward role?

i'd be seriously surprised if we get him. harry wouldnt sell us his dog's shit. it'd be amazing but i doubt it will happen

Don't be too surprised though with Adebayor as part of the bargaining. We didn't loan him out for nothing.

TBH i couldn't care less about Tolmie being a supposed ITK or his Status as the forums No1 golden boy, We sign who sign and sell who well sell irregardless of his input, The YouTube vids are fun though. However he's bang on in his estimations here for my money. Bale is wasted at Spurs and in the right surroundings could become unstoppable. Hulk however is the most overrated above average player in world football. Spot on Tolmie, spot on.

Bale would be THE signing of the summer if it was to happen. It's clear to me at least that the thing we really need is a couple of world class wingers. Clichy and Bale down the left?... erm, yes please. I can see it happening too. No CL football for Spurs, All their rivals looking stronger already, relatively low wage for a player of his class, Adebayor to use as a sweetener.... Not impossible at all. In fact quite realistic if we try hard enough.

Bale is world class and would fit our system perfectly.

Where shall we start: Young, fast, British, fantastic shot, can tackle, head and shoot, attacks, defends, good crossing, versatile, unplayable at our place where he was the best player on the pitch, reliable, ambitious, not tied up with international duties, lives here already, intelligent, popular with colleagues, good family behind him. Best left wingback in world football and seems a nice bloke to boot.....................not many of these around i'd say, and if we dont get him you can bet Barca or Real will at some point.
