People are rating him on here at 70 - 75m. That's massively overated.

It doesnt matter - he is an appreciating asset and a must have player for any CL winning team. He'd be in any world x11 - and for that you have to pay the relative price.
What would you rather have right now - the crap we bought for 50m or bale + 20m?????! No brainer.

So how much would we have spent in the last window if we would have signed a 70 million pound winger?

IMO we'd have been better off not spending anything at all rather than the decidedly average bunch we brought in.......................when will you lot listen? We were shit in europe last year because we only have 5 players who are good enough. We didnt improve on that last summer because of appalling purchases - so what can you expect?
Bale is world class and should have been bought as not many of his pedigree come along very often.....................we need x6 world class players before we can think of CL glory - that is maximum x2 per year and one year 'bedding in. Total = 4yrs before we can seriously challenge.

I agree. This Ffp bullshit is costing us big time. One more big spend and we would have cracked it, then we could ease off spending a bit. We stopped a season early while the shit and Chelsea strengthened and it's made us weaker.
