I don't think this man gets enough credit for what he does; with dispossessing opponents then distributing the ball wonderfully what more do you want. His ball to Bellamy to assist Adebayor was prime Barry and being from the Midlands it was great to see him sign for us to get them off those villa scumbags anyway that's another rant for another day.

He's a class player and is a prominent England player from our team. (I think he should of been captain but hey!)

He's very much unsung. I think it's telling that his return to form has coincided with our most convincing sequence of results since the start of the season, when he was playing so well. Awesome pass to Bellamy for our third. That was an absolutely lethal ball.

completely agree im not sure why he gets so much grief but this guy as done bloody wonders to our midfield this season its just a same he does not have the right man next to him to complement his game!

ie.a gerrard or lampard type midfielder that does not smoulder him in what he does best!

IMO if we had any other players better than gaz baz he would of been on the bench alot between January to the end of March, he's been shit and non-exsistant in all the games and not got into them enough, he started the season on fire though and towards crimbo completely dipped.

he's come good again the last 3 weeks though, he was quality against Wigan, brilliant at Burnley and absolutely outstanding yesterday.

Totally agree with this mate. The Villa away game seemed to really affect his confidence. 1 thing i do wish is that he had abit more pace. He would be touching a whole new level if he had a better engine ala MJ

i could say the same to you, half of this forum made the same point.

yeh he's class, but he was shit for 3 months, he was non-exisistant for most of the games, he was bullied everygame.

imho he has that engine that you say he misses but only uses when required he is not an attacking midfielder,he is not given enough credit for what he does which is defend set pieces when required,hold the midfield and on occasions attack the goal.

barry always done the job asked of him and more but the guy has ran himself to the ground this season and needed as rest.

Player who could pass as well as tackle. Personally i think he could get converted to an out an out DM next season which would suit me maybe not quite as biting as DJ but see a pass much better and therefore is able to contribute more - he plays this role for England so he is a quality world class player.

Players in the mould of Yaya Toure would be good to play along side him if he is too maintan his current role - if he was to become an out and out DM then a Fabregas type player would be good.

Pay me 2 Million a year and i could be more specific

Don't get me wrong m8 he is fantastic at what he does but at times he looks like he is running through treacle. A bit more pace and he would add a different dimension to his game. The guy is as physically fit as they come, i just wish he was abit quicker

Loss of form shit happens but he is a quality player - one who wanted to come to us - signed in a day no shit no hassle and has played almost every game this season. Personally i would drop DJ in place of Barry and buy a attacking midfield player - the player we all wanted Superman to be this year.

If KAKA can move to RM and play KAKA then even Barry should be excused a loss of form - agree he needs a quality midfield player with him to flourish.
