Aoba? Is that you?
Gareth? Is that you?
See, if a joke is funny, it's worth repeating.
Only Chloe Kelly could stick up for Chloe Kelly, is the idea?
How peculiar.
I wish I could run the length of the pitch without getting out of breath. Or was being paid her salary. Wouldn't be having to work night shift either.
It's not particularly Chloe Kelly, I'd be sticking up for whichever time-served player was being misrepresented they way she is on here.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and perceive things slightly differently. I just don't think the level of criticism is fair. IMHO she hasn't been given enough chances to observe how "literally shit" she is. I will call out when she is poor, such as when she was put on at the end of the match at Stamford Bridge. She looked all over the place, but who knows where here head was at by that point.
Again, I would never come on here and repeatedly say someone was shit, but will say when I think someone is playing poorly. I have seen enough of Roord now to realise that she isn't the same player since coming back from injury, and I think she could do with being used more sparingly and subbed off sooner when she's having a poor match.
Same with Fujino, I was deeply unhappy with her at the start, but she has really come into her own. Again, my opinion only, but going back to the Stamford Bridge match, I think she was our best player that day running herself ragged all over the pitch.
Back on topic, but this sacking is exciting because (and I expect this is the management's thinking) things can't possibly get worse. Hopefully an uptick in morale, and a bit of fire in their bellies can get some wins out of this run and maybe rescue next years Champions League. Cushing is a safe pair of hands, that the previous version of the team highly respected, and they are more than capable of playing well, I think its all mental. As you say, the matches you remember, that get your bum off the seat are when we have wave after wave of attack, not endless passing from midfield to backline to goalie under pressure. Mix things up, confuse the opposition. Most now expect cities play to be slow and toothless, and plan their response around it. Catch them off guard!
Ha, Inspector Clouseau on the case.
Interesting posts is it? Imagine rooting around in the bins behind the forum and that's the best you could find.
Yes, you can be a blue and be new to the forum.
Yes, you can be a blue and not feel that spending your entire time online is a good use of your day.
Yes, you can be a blue and be critical of the atmosphere at the ground.
Yes, you can be a blue and find the away fan's singing funny. I must have missed the compulsory sense of humour removal operation when allocated my seat. They didn't invent it, but "Is this a library?" is just funny, isn't it? Better than "Where's your famous atmosphere" IMO.
I also find it embarrassing that they are able to sing that at us. I wish to god I wasn't one of the circa only 10 people in my stand trying to chant/sing.
There is a weird sort of symbiotic relationship between the crowd/atmosphere and the players. The better they play, the more excited the crowd are, the louder they are, the players feed of that. I wonder how much of the dead stadium stuff at present is down to the disappointing football. Chicken/egg situation. The players/manager can't possibly have been happy with how "present" the crowd were on Sunday.
The OSC try their best in their corner with the drum, but the rest of the stadium don't join in. They just sit there in silence, and it is very frustrating.
As the men's fans have managed, we should try to fight to shake off the stigma of a silent "emptihad" ground.
I don't know how we fix it, but something needs doing. I don't know if there needs to be more effort to try something other than the "9 claps - city - city - city - city" thing? Not sure a lot of the player based songs are successful either, with no-one outside the OSC seemingly knowing the words.
And re the Etihad, as I said the turn out for the Villa cup match was very poor, put that few people in the Etihad it would look and feel even worse. What's worse is, it would end up with way more United fans in. I was on the halfway line at the last derby, and when Toone kept scoring (first goals in 6 months, FFS) the cheers went up around me from all directions. Something needs doing about how they sell these tickets. It can't be hard to have one side city one side United, surely? Just sell two types of ticket on the site. Same applies to the women's FA Cup, why do they insist on selling final tickets all year before anyone knows who's in it. They wouldn't do that for the men's final so why do it for the women?
