garry cook's naiviety has cost us everything

1. backing hughes so that when we enter the transfer window we are hovering above the transfer window = less chance of signing good players

2. agreeing to have the 2nd meeting at milan's hq - where thousands of their fans can congregate - why didnt he insist on moving it to a different location ? he isn't a football man and under-estimated the power of fan power

3. because we kept hughes on too long we have now had a major setback - any good players will now feel it acceptable to turn us down and the only players we will ever get are mercaneries like bellamy - not only that cook's blinkered backing of hughes has now cost us robinho - without kaka there is nothing for robinho to stay for

whilst the MEN will say there is no shame in failing to land a world star like kaka - that wa sthe whole point of our strategy and if our strategy doesnt work then we have no plan b

Perhaps you should apply for the job, you sound like you have all the answers!

bollox to most of you lot. i'ma blue and i'm allowed an opinion. he should have moved the meeting the truth hurts. its a major setback, if we lose robinho where is our "project" then ?

Opinions are like arseholes - we all have one - doesnt mean we have to like yours...

having had a couple of days to reflect i still feel gutted really, i know we have moved on but reading the independent's article at 11.03 cook was in the airport and milan even then had asked for a figure to close the deal - where i think cook was naive was that he misjudged the pressure kaka himself was under, and the fact that once milan had broke the confidentiality agreement, thus pumping the stakes up, that cook would have the luxury of the same amount of time to clinch a deal. he didnt - even hughes said it was now or never. on the thursday mark bowen said "we're really close" - by saturday hughes said "we're a million miles away"- we'd lost control and should have fought fire with fire. milan are a club that has been done for match bribing, they are sneaky, cook isn't a football man and didn't understand it wasn't a nice busines dela he was concluding, he was up against a propaganda machine and to avoid the scenes we saw on monday night, should have called it off earlier or been ready to offer the right amount.

kakas dad asked for figures and cook asked for more time to come back with figures, milan saw it as the decisive meeting, cook didnt have the final figures ready, surely he'd realised this might have happenend once he turned up on the monday - trying to negotiate on milan's terms in milan's ground with thousands of milan fans outside 2 days after 65,000 milan fans had gone beserk. we could have regained a modicum of control had we asked for the venue to be moved or at least insisted on kaka being omitted against fiorentina. cook never asked for this to happen.

kaka had had people outside his house for a week and no doubt didnt want things to drag on for another week - he was in on the deal from the start , milan had agreed to sell so milan would have told him about city - forget this my heart is in milan bullshit from kaka, he'd have come if the money was right - kaka would have already indicated to city what money would have been right. if he wasn't the right man in cook's eyes for the club then why call it off at such a late stage ?

anyway, sorry to drag up old wounds most people are looking ahead now, but i just feel to go over there and not get your man, to have a limited amount of time to conduct business, to have mis-read how the situation changed between midweek and monday, i think the arabs will have the final say on this in the summer

Well as good a footballer Robinho is, if he is such a sook that he leaves a training camp because we didn't manage to sign his world class mate or because we wouldn't let him go home for his birthday, then it has become evidently clear why Real were happy to let him go and why we should be as well. Scolari can have him if he is such a big sook if we can get something decent in return from them. Even if he was to go, our project will go on. To be honest I'm happy with our progress so far in this window. Bridge looks a good signing, Bellamy (While maybe not popular with many fans) will help to at least temporarily fill a void and De Jong (Who will probably sign in the next day or two) will be a very good piece of business as well. Get in a CB and maybe another Keeper and it will have been a very good January transfer window for us.

Just because we missed out on Kaka this time its not the end of the world. I fully believe that Milan are every bit to blame for the breakdown or whatever happened with the talks. Cook is no fool, no matter what you think of his rhetoric etc that he comes out with.

So its all Robs fault? He actually said this had been agreed earlier, but no we will go With Cooks ridiculous statement regarding discipline no player bigger than the club etc Fuck me the dick should have said fuck all and kept it inhouse until he has spoken to Hughes.
We dont need to feed the press more shite/ unrest, they can do that without our help.
With regard to the Kaka deal, glad he pulled out. But some of his comments were strange.
So I am a little pissed off at the mo with him and if we lose Rob I will be devastated and hope this negative PR created isnt to set in motion the extreme circumstances clause that will allow Rob to leave.

Sshhh. This view is now heretical and liable to get you burned as a witch / rag

Not sure I agree that Hughes is any part of the problem, but the outcomes you describe will come to pass.

All the above highlighted comments prove that you are a typical whining/rag-top-reading/short-sighted/knee-jerk/rag-like/know-nowt who should get behind his club and support the current administration who are taking City back to where they belong... Sat at the top table of English Football.

I could answer all your points but there's no point coz others will but you still wouldn't get it anyway.

The South Stand eh?

Are you one of them that gets your ticket there so you can just say that you go in that stand so you can be nearer to Mary D's and so still be in there 10 minutes before kick off and so you can stand there arms folded complaining about why there's no atmosphere and the team aren't scoring goals every 10 minutes because your attention span can't take any longer before you fuck off for a fag or to the bar so you can hang out with all the tough guys and miss the beginning and end of every half of football that we ever play coz you're so fucking and stupid that you don't really understand what supporting a team actually means ie getting behind them when things are tough not just joining in with any song that has less than 5 words in it when we're winning or when we're away the south stand should be our heartbeat but unfortunately many in there have acute (f)angina (like what I did there?) so juat wait for someone else to start it off and if I know the words I might join in if that big bruiser, ooh he's such a big man and I'm soooo close to him, does because I haven't got the fuckin' gumption to make my own decisions and have to rely on the sun or any other sensationalist outlet to give me my opinions and information...?
