Its Guinness time any day of the week.
Salford City co-owner Gary Neville has been accused of trying to "steal" an English Football League spot by Accrington Stanley owner Andy Holt in a row between the pair on social media.

The exchange came after National League Salford signed striker Adam Rooney from Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen.

The Irishman, 30, will earn a reported £4,000-a-week at the non-league club after moving for an undisclosed fee.

In response, Neville suggested Holt wanted "franchise football" in the EFL.

When asked whose EFL place Neville's side would be "stealing", the former England and Manchester United right-back replied: "Steal! I hope it's yours now! We've invested millions.

"You seem to want a franchise league where the established can't be challenged! We put a lot of money in and aren't embarrassed about it."

I honestly have NO idea if GN has slagged City off in the past ref our so called "big spending policy" but it appears his Salford City team are "buying the league" according to Accringtons owner.
GN must want to be the new City. Hahahahah

Rag hypocrisy knows no bounds, a couple of my mates go watching Salford City who had no interest in them before Gary Chuckle and co bought them out. They trot out the shite about how its real football and how they fell out of love with top level football because of what City have done to their beloved rags. Then I remind them what salford City are doing in the lower league is exactly the same as whats happened at City.

Whats wrong with buying a football club and investing money in it? Whether it be Sheikh Mansour, Gary Chuckle or that guy who peeps under bog doors who used to be chairman at United in the 90s putting them on the stock market and getting multiple people to invest?

They've had 4 promotions in 5 seasons. They have signed on average, 8 players every off season.

What they are doing is actually much more pronounced than what City ever did.

It's really ironic obviously. People are waking up to the way city operate is actually how it should be done.

Neville ain't fuckin stupid.

The money they have behind them, they will be in league 1/championship in the next 5 years.

What does it say about the state of Scottish football that a player would rather play in the fifth tier of English football than the Scottish premiership with European football.

He's 30 and 3rd choice now. He wasn't getting game time.

Made out as a super duper signing by Salford. He's a decent striker but nothing much.

He`ll do well for them in the league. As you say he`s an OK player but not earth shattering.Don`t know about the £4K per week he`ll be on ?
Decent player. A mate had a bet with a work colleague he would score more than his name sake in the rags a few seasons ago and won convincingly. As said though wasn't first choice at Aberdeen.

He is if he thinks that they're ever going to be able to stand on their own feet with the sort of crowds they get.

Unless they get to the Premier League, he'll be pumping an increasing amount of money in every season.

They'll need a new stadium for a start at some point.

Aberdeens top scorer by a mile and the fans are gutted he has been sold. Good signing for salford, he is a pure finisher.
