I was always Peter Barnes in the playground. Despite being 100% right footed, I practiced literally day and night to make myself 2 footed. Culminating in me scoring a left footed free kick winning goal in the Catholic cup finalWhen I was a kid and playing football with my mate I was either pretending to be Gary Owen or Peter Barnes, they were always my favourite players and wonderful to watch.
Played 5 a side recently and passed with both feet to the bemusement of my team mates. Can't believe footballers who earn over £100000 a week theaebdays are so one footed

When I was a kid and playing football with my mate I was either pretending to be Gary Owen or Peter Barnes, they were always my favourite players and wonderful to watch.
It was a crime against City and football when Big Mal sold Gary and Peter.

Yes, well done. In my older playing days, I used to get the piss taken for being one footed. So I practised in secret! Passing not too shabby but only scored once at five a side with my left. Almost every decision he made was dreadful. Too keen to prove he knew more than anyone. Flawed character, should never have been i/c anything.It was a crime against City and football when Big Mal sold Gary and Peter.

Still play five a side now and as a left footer have managed to get my right foot up to speed at this late age. Scored quite a few with me right foot...but back in the Sunday morning league days ...always Left Foot.every time.Yes, well done. Was sat next to him at a bar, on Brighton seafront, about three hours before kick-off, final game of last season. I was already hammered by that point!
What a fucking brilliant day. What a location to celebrate a title, especially with that glorious weather. One of my best days as a City fan. Pure magic.

I also couldn't believe it...couldn't comprehend what was going on.I was a young lad of about 6yrs then and could not believe it they were my hero's.
But I tell you what..I cried when Big Mal got sacked. He probably destroyed our club ..but he was such a big presence ..always talking City Up...to this young teenager..he was a god! The results were incredibly bad...I still shudder when anyone says '"Halifax'" i really do...but there was something about Big Mal.
