Okay according to some reports this morning it is understood that we have first refusal on the Uruguayan until June 6 to meet the Italian club’s £14.4 million (€18m) asking price.

Ramirez's agent has been quoted as saying that after the 6th June he is authorised to speak to Spurs if nothing has been agreed with City.

However Bobbymanc has been quoted as saying we are in no need for a new striker - but with the growing speculation of Dzeko going to Bayern we may end up making a move for Ramirez.

Also the fact that he did start his career playing out on the wing means he would be able to add with to our squad.

Ramirez is on City's radar

Uruguay international generating plenty of interest

Manchester City, Juventus and Wolfsburg have all expressed an interest in Bologna playmaker Gaston Ramirez, according to FIFA agent Pablo Betancourt.

The Uruguay international was expected to generate plenty of interest this summer, having shone during a two-season stint in Italy.

Speculation suggests he could be on his way to one of Europe's top clubs, with a frantic scramble for his signature about to be set in motion.

Ramirez's representative admits it is likely that a deal will be done at some stage, but says there is no guarantee that the South American will opt to join Premier League winners City or Serie A champions Juve.

"I can confirm that Juventus and Manchester City have contacted me to show an interest," Betancourt told calciomercato.com.

Offers

"But there is especially an interesting offer from Wolfsburg and also another one from an important Spanish club.

"I think, considering all the offers, the possibility that he could leave (this summer) could happen.

"I would like to point out that there are several agents working on the player but from 1st June, I will have his exclusive rights."

Ramirez scored eight goals in 33 league appearances for Bologna in 2011/12 and the 21-year-old is under contract with the Serie A outfit until June 2016.

its a YES from me (dare I say it he has Bale-like qualities- see youtube) and he is half the price!

Does this fit in with Tolmie's post last night that we had been given a week to respond to the asking price for a wing target?
Which post? Do you have the link?...don't bother, I eventually found it on page 47 of the Its Quiet thread.
