I give it until Christmas before its closed due to a dwindling audience - they will blame the demise on the lack of woke BLM supporters who were not prepared to tune in and be insulted in their own front rooms lol

Neil opened his channel with the lines. "They'll be no fake news. Everything will be fact checked and all our presenters have a contractual obligation not to push conspiracy theories or misinformation"

Wootton:

"No wonder Labour Party lost the red wall by calling England Fans racist for refusing to support an marxist organisation than wants to defund the police..."

"Boris Johnson needs to release us from lockdown or were heading for a Chinese state type grip on our freedoms"

Surely Offcom must have something to say on that?

I suspect like trumps twitter account, the figures will be kept high by those tuning in just to point at it and cry outrage. No fans on here so far but it appears to betting avidly consumed by those that don't like it? - Stats-wise a viewer is a viewer I suppose.

I've had my fill.

Was willing to give a chance and it looks like it's the station of dying privileged people.

yhp, people like it tune in to be indignant about something. Gives them a faux purpose.

I imagine it will be popular because peddling hate is always popular. It sounds like the TV equivalent of the Daily Mail/Sun, which despite everyone knowing are lying, hate filled shite, are the most popular papers. That being said, it's popularity will be largely limited by the fact the biggest demographic for this sort of thing is also the demographic who are least tech savvy and least likely to watch a channel which isn't one of the first 4.

EDIT, that being said, I imagine getting sued into oblivion will be it's main downfall. Those papers constantly lie and then get sued, fined fairly trivial amounts, print tiny retractions and then carry on bullshitting. TV works a bit different to that and they'd quickly end up in trouble if they are as blatantly libellous as the paper equivalents

You mention popular/popularity 4 or 5 times in that post. When has anything gained a wide audience or support by not being popular? The trick is to peddle something else that is more popular - to say rw stuff / hate is always popular is just a weak excuse for the inability of those selling the alternative.
Blair did it as did Corbyn - so much so that it took his own party to put a stop to it. As long as factions within the left keep stabbing each other in the back it's an open goal for the rw and things like this channel.

Alan Partridge: Right, ok. “Daily Mail”, “The Sun”, “The Express”, “Spectator”, “Fox News”. What does that say to you about hate filled right-wing media?
Tony Hares: There’s too many of them?
Alan Partridge: That’s one way of looking at it. Another way of looking at it is, people like them, let’s make some more of them.

Out of interest is it a 24/7 operation or after midnight is it just the Nuremberg Rally on a loop until 7am?
Just had a look / watch. Looks like they just to replays / catchup until whenever their breakfast show starts. I watched the last bit of the show hosted by Dan Wooten (ex Sun). He personally seems not great - the commercial broadcasting sector is very competitive and there is probably a good reason he was available. Modus operandi seems to be as follows:
  • Begin each segment with stated aims - fairness , balance, civility, both sides of the story, derision of woke bias / london-centric media.
  • Introduce topic - general right of centre framing of issue. Think mail/express/sun or Nick Ferrari ect.
  • Populist / white van / pub over a pint viewpoint. Pretty much a fox news / mail perspective smuggled in under the guise of neutrality.
  • In fairness opposite view then presented fairly - albeit by a bloke that looks like a glue-sniffer.
  • Ads - quite a lot
  • Rinse and repeat.
Overall the presenters / content look like a rw angry version of the One Show with union flag based graphics. Having said that, I'll deffo have a look at Alastair Stewart and Andrew Neils stuff as I think they are both very good journo's / interviewers.

cheers - just confirms why I won't sully my eyes with a view and that it will quickly become tiresome for even its target audience - all 24 hr rolling news can become tiresome and repetitive but at least it changes as the news changes over the 24 hr period.

The joy of this new channel is the fact that all the mouth foamers actually
believe the majority of folk think like them.
Thankfully, they don't, and that red wall is now not red.

Not seen it yet, is it worth tuning in to get all the good news about Brexit and how the UK is about to surge ahead?

I watched a bit of the breakfast show and it's a bit strange really. It shouldn't really be called a news channel because there isn't really any news, it's just an opinion channel where they bait discussion on topics but so far they've struggled to generate anything really worth discussing.

It reminds me of TalkSport where they sort of generate discussion by being a bit controversial however so far they've been as controversial as Theresa May running through fields of wheat.

They've banged on all morning about the England players taking the knee but all they've said is that there were a few boos and some cheers too... Current headline on the screen is "England players booed and cheered for controversial gesture", it's really hot stuff!

SITREP - John Barnes was just on saying he supported the players taking the knee or not taking the knee...

I wonder if there's some paint drying somewhere.....
