Gender Neutral language

A mate of mine at his place of work who’s been charged with breaching the equalities policy. His crime? During a meeting he asked a male colleague for his thoughts and a female one for her feelings. Some twonk in HR has decided he should be disciplined for not using gender neutral language.

It’s really got me thinking about how I use language

I'm the biggest 'snowflake' Guardian reading out there but this is bollocks. There are some people like Jamie Lee Curtis who have crossover genitalia and hormones but they must be one in hundred of thousands. 99.9999% of the offended gender militia are attention seeking ****'s.

That doesn't answer it though. What does it 'feel like' to be a woman and is it any different to feeling like being a man? What is the actual definition of it?
That my friend is the question that has created so many critics of the concept and why there are those who believe it to be emotional nonsense.

What IS a man? What does it mean to BE a woman? Is it all down to feelings or is it biology? Essentially though, that is what it means to be cis-gendered: you believe yourself to be a man and, according to societal standards, you 'look' like a traditional man. Mind and body both match = cis, when they don't you're trans or one of the many other 'genders' that apparently exist.

For example, you can be a genderfluid trans pregnant man. Don't look at me like that, i'm serious!
