Lavery on the Beeb defending the Labour manifesto. Madness.

The defeat is all down to Brexit apparently. Which is bollocks. There's no way a defeat of this magnitude is solely down to Brexit. If this were the case, people like me, who would rathe we stayed in the EU, would not still have voted Tory.

Yes, Brexit has played a major part, but for many the thought of a Corbyn led Labour Government was even worse than Brexit

I think it's a combination of issues to be honest and Labour's fence-sitting on Brexit surely swung it for some, if not all, traditional Labour voters who voted Conservative

If Scotland leaves the UK and comes to rely upon oil then seriously they are in for a whole world of pain. Oil is one of the most volatile and politically sensitive commodities there is.

If you understand the oil industry then you'll understand that sitting on any number of oil reserves is pointless. Oil has to be taken from the ground, refined and then sold as a final product. All of that comes at a cost.

The amount of oil under Scottish waters is therefore irrelevant, all that matters is whether those oil reserves are feasible and profitable which is driven by the cost it takes to get it of the ground against the oil price of the day.

The Saudi oil companies etc are major producers, Scotland is not. They could put Scotland out of business overnight because they can absorb low oil prices. We saw this immediately after the Scottish referendum when Saudi oil tankers were circling in the gulf because of high supply.

It would be utter stupidity to leave the UK.

Scotland has gone almost totally yellow. That's what they want, let them have it. Bye, we won't miss you

I think you do a disservice to those that did interview him, I get the impression you’re looking at it with some bias.

He avoided the climate debate and Andrew Neil but didn’t he break a record for the amount he did in total?

The Tories aren’t far right nationalists lol, I wonder what you’d say if you ever came across a party that was.

I don’t like Johnson or the Tories but we need to be objective in all of this.

Most of the BBC journalists are Tory toadies.

He avoided all the hard interviews. Not just him, they hid away Rees-Mogg, Francois etc.

They aren't traditionally but they are now. They ran on a nationalist, populist platform.

But presumably there were plenty of Tory constituencies that voted Remain where the MPs voted for Brexit in parliament. What happened to Redwood for example?
But Tory voters will not switch to another party even if their MP has a different view on Brexit to themselves. There is a solid core of Tory voters that can not be swayed to vote any other way, you can not say that about the other parties.

Ditto. I've voted for.them previously and I'd do so again if they're policies appealed to me.

I'm not one of those who says "I could never vote for xyz". That view surely is the height of stupidity.

I'm afraid that this was the driving force in my decision to vote Tory this time as I simply could never vote for Corbyn. The vote meant nothing in reality as Alyn and Deeside where we now live was held by Labour by 215 votes... the only pocket of Labour in North Wales which says a lot...

They need to blame someone, anyone but the shambles of a manifesto and crackpot leader.

It's now going to be all the Media's fault/Conspiracy shite regarding CA.

It isnt in question that Corbyn etc are rubbish.

However you know how the media sways things against City.

They do the same but for the Conservatives.
