HZD's story is... ok, even if I hate the dialogue. Combat is decent-to-pretty good. World is a bit empty. Mostly really pretty and atmospheric.
ME Andromeda is going to suck preeeety badly. Wish I'd said it when I first realised, for guru status. Weightless weapons, bulletsponging, dumb AI. Enviroments are boxes and ramps. Movement, cover, UI, camera is awful. Tacics don't exist. Deeply unoriginal skill tree / powers. It's just stupid. But most of all - the dialogue and characters. Wow. Noooot good. The general witing is abysmal, compared to... well, we've got Witcher 3, obviously, but even something like RE7 was far more compelling and involving.
But Andromeda is pretty much a prime example of everything that's wrong with AAA gaming right now.
I'm buying Nier: Automata instead. Platinum have nailed a fascinating environment and responsive, adaptive, expressive, creative gameplay and controls. Taro's story is reflective, mindbending, emotive and has thematic weight and depth. Way more thought provoking than MGS V's story, but less insulting, in a game with a lot less repetition and grind.
Zelda is a different approach but better, a more natural gameplay experience, and a 'less is more' approach with dialogue, environment and world building... it really works tho. The game is a lot of fun and very involving believe me, even if there are a few annoyances. I'm tempted to go into debt just to get a switch and complete it
I'm not interested in For Honor, but I admit the combat is well put together. Everything points to Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Mount And Warblade 2 being much deeper games.
Two point and click adventure recommends:
Night In The Woods.
Four Last Things. Utterly bonkers and pretty damned funny, plays like Monkey Island, looks like a Terry Gilliam cartoon. Short but very sweet.
Any real wierdos out there should be checking out Oikospiel.
