Genesis reformed

Apart from the astonishing news that it seems Phil has risen yet again, I have to say that the thought of Genesis touring has seen me refuse to even look for handwash soap.

And you can stick your face mask up your arse too.

Fair play to Phil though, I kinda knew he might ressurect again, and he has. My only concern is who will take over welcoming newly deceased celebs into Heavens Green Room.

Hearing the news of Genesis are back playing, has led to flashbacks of sitting in my mates house way back, as he tried to convince me they were good.

What do you think of this one?

Shite

You'll love this,

No I won't. And if I do I will kill myself.

Sadly he went missing that year never to be seen again.

No one has ever been charged for his vanishing. Just one of those things. Probably.
There earlier stuff was excellent until Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett left than I would mainly agree with you.

Anyhow, you want to see the price of tickets to get in and see them at the Hydro. £186 for the cheapest. Robbing bastards.

Still plenty on sale :-)

Absolutely brilliant in the Peter Gabriel heyday (especially live), but then it all went downhill from A Trick of the Tail onwards. The later albums were absolute garbage IMO.

Is it true Clinton Baptiste is channeling the spirit of our late departed Phil for the gigs?

I do like Trick of the tail, wind and wuthering And even then there were three.
Cant listen to their other albums I’m afraid.
Duke is an absolute cracker, Saddleworth 2. After that, their albums had many fine moments, but carried a lot of "OK-ish songs"
They are and always have been superb musicians. I go to see Steve Hackett on his annual tour and am looking forward to seeing him again again in October (god willing).
He is an exceptional guitarist still and plays stuff from the time he was in the band as well as his excellent solo work. If you haven't seen him its worth a ticket mate.
I've got tickets for me and another forum member for his date in Liverpool in September. Can't wait. But I'll have to put up with that tit of a singer, and the largely unneeded woodwind etc fella.

Again, a touch harsh. Abacab is poor, as was side 2 of Genesis. Invisible Touch is basically a pop album. We Can't Dance has 2 BRILLIANT tracks, which stand as equal to their masterpieces. The album the did with Ray Wilson has some great songs, too.

Legend Philip, an absolute legend.

Beautifully filmed with footage from days gone bye. Look how happy they all were with not a proverbial pot to piss in. At the 21:15 mark the camera man holds them all back and then signals for a walk past, the expressions on their faces are beyond immense.

00:00 Which Way the Wind Blows (Anthony Phillips) - Album "The Geese and the Ghost" -- Recorded 1975
05:45 God If I Saw Her Now (Anthony Phillips) - Album "The Geese and the Ghost" - Recorded 1975
09.50 It's Yourself (Genesis) - Single B side (Also on Archive#2) - Recorded 1975
15:50 Mad Man Moon (Genesis) - Album "A Trick of the Tail" - Recorded 1975
22.52 Silver Song (Anthony Phillips) - Unused Single - Recorded 1973

I occasionally listen to the 24 hour Internet site "Genesisbandradio". I'd never heard a second of Anthony Phillips solo output, until the other day. God if I Saw Her Now is a beautiful song (sounds a bit like a Radiohead song) , and Collins' vocals are brilliant for a guy who was basically "just" a drummer.
