Nasri is an even more confusing comparison to be fair seeing as he's never been a central midfielder for us at all and has basically played out wide for us or as a second striker since signing.

Why Fernando then? Surely losing our only defensive specialist would be a detrimental squad move.Perhaps Nasri would be more susceptible and appropriate.

Because we have 4 centre midfield squad places at present. My personal opinion would be keep Delph as he looks like a very useful player, Fernandinho who for me is our most important centre mid, yaya who I would replace with Pogba and Fernando with Evans. And as for Nasri we may aswel get shut for the amount he is offering us and give Patrick Roberts some game time.
