Pep favours a one man defensive midfield. He played that position himself for Barcelona. It requires a player that can 1) link defence and attack by moving the ball forward quickly and accurately 2) read the game well to snuff out counter-attacks when possession is lost. The player in the squad just now that is closest to having these attributes is Fernandinho because I don't think Yaya has the legs for it or defensive mindset. I haven't seen George play much, but for those that have, do you think he could play this position?

George has played centre mid and centre half,he has very good vision,decent technical ability and an eye for a goal,as he is currently proving......he is also developing physically into quite a unit.....so, imo,he has the attributes to perform in that role,the question is.......does he have the quality to do it in our team,at our level?
