George Evans

George has played centre mid and centre half,he has very good vision, decent technical ability and an eye for a goal,as he is currently proving......he is also developing physically into quite a unit.....so, imo,he has the attributes to perform in that role, the question is.......does he have the quality to do it in our team,at our level?
That's interesting. The thing with Pep is he will really coach him on a 121 basis in the role and invest the time if he thinks he has the right attributes. I really can't wait to see what he does for some of our youngsters. Sounds like George is really making a statement at Walsall. Good for him.

Y know what, that is absolutely brilliant. He fucked up a chance to score but you can see the determination in him to put it right & he does it with a bit of style, creating & finishing the move.

I hope we don't realease him & that he's still here when PG goes. He deserves someone to have a proper look a him, & assess him re the first team squad. Then if he can't do it, fair enough.

You know the riot song about Joe Hart? I might well implement it if we release Evans before PG is here. He's done everything which is asked of him, we simply have to respect that and give him a proper look.

It worries me, that Rony Lopes did exactly the same, but at a higher level, then was booted without even getting a decent run in the clueless pre season fiasco. Whilst discussing Pep's managerial traits yesterday, I just took a random year & had a look at Barca appearences, & he'd used about 13 kids from the academy. Some just 3 or 4 times, but they'd got on the pitch, loads of them. Most never made it, but they got their chance.

I didn't realise he had used so many, but it fills me with hope that IF he does turn up at City, players like George will at least get a sniff. Then it's upto him to grab the chance (if we don't lt him go before then).

Evans will surely be here when PG is. I don't think we'll see any of the kids leave properly in January thankfully. Agree with others - his determination was great to make that goal. He's seemingly improving so much, all while being part of the current best team in league one. What more can he do? Put it this way - he's doing better than Harry Kane ever did during any of his ten billion loans.

You've hit the nail on the head with Harry Kane imo.

The difference between him & City's loanees, is that he'd get a sniff of the first team, then be sent out, then get another sniff, then loaned again, then back to the first team again for another go. Ours go out on loan as if it's a 3 year version of 'Jesus tested in the wilderness' which they might one day get on the subs' bench if they still have the heart to be able to play proper football when they get back.

True but Rony was very vocal in thinking he should be part of the squad. Evans hasn't said anything like that just yet

I wouldn't loan him out for the 2nd half of the season, when Yaya gets knackered and Fernandinho needs a rest, I'd rather call on him and Delph as back ups (Fernando isn't good enough).
