Was he definitely the number 3 yesterday?

If he was, he was probably the second best player on the pitch behind Brandon

i though the 4 ,7, 8 and barker were especially good

7 was Ambrose, was brilliant first half but faded in the second...looked knackered

Don't know who 8 was but he was a unit and played pretty well

Didn't notice 4

8 was Ntcham and is a unit and had a very good game. 4 I think was Glendon sitting in front of the back 4 and Evans was 3 playing at the back with Facey while Angelino playing as a number 3 left back was actually number 5.

Not sure about Ambrose being knackered but I believe he had been a bit sick and left the field in the first half for tablets and a drink. Vieira kept him on so must have been ok.

4 was Facey at centre half, Glendon was 6.

Facey (4) definitely played in central defence. Almost like a sweeper at times. Was usually the outlet for Gunn from the back. He played very well...his height (he looked less than 6 foot) might be an issue for holding down a central role. Glendon (6) played central mid and he always has the head up looking for a pass. He's a busy midfielder and had a pretty good game. Ambrose (7) was played right wing but is a centre forward and started very well. He took a knock and I thik this impacted him 2nd half. Barker (11) played on the Left Wing and was good without being spectacular. You can see he like a dribble, takes them on and could be a very good player for us in a year or so. Pretty impressive performance by the EDS and a great stadium. A pleasure to watch some of the guys play that I read about on the forum.

Wishful thinking and also knee-jerking a lot, but I wouldn't mind if he would just step in to the senior squad after Lampard leaves. If we had Rodwell as our no. 4 CM for 2 seasons, why not him? Or at least give the lad a chance in preseason.

I am so pleased for George for that second half performance. A magic ball to Jovetic and apart from that he had a superb second half.

A real unsung hero is George. He hasn't been getting the plaudits of the other youngsters but my goodness he impressed me today.

Looked right at home with the first team, no nerves at all, just his natural game. Hopefully we can find him a decent championship loan, as he's clearly a senior footballer now. (which you suspect might be one of the reasons he was on the trip?)

He was fantastic today, my MOTM along with Milner. Was calm, composed, confident. He was spraying 40/50/60 yard balls around like Xabi Alonso. I would love him to have a successful MCFC career, as a Manchester lad who played in every youth side would be a great story. If not I feel he's at least of similar ability to Emyr Huws and should command a similar fee if we decide he's not good enough.

He completely outshone the other EDS lads, but then again he is 2 years older and has done this all before, and that can make all the difference (particularly with confidence/nerves). And to be fair, Ambrose went off after 8 minutes, Celina only played about 10/15 and Barker played in the first half where fuck all happened.

I'd like to see George and Barker get some minutes vs Middlesbrough.
