America

Mass school shooting - answer there are not enough guns in the school to protect the pupils
Mass night club shooting - see above
Huge numbers of deaths of black men as compared with white men when they contact Police officers

The place is racists and fetishises gun ownership until they address that .......................

I witnessed it the first time I went to New York. An Hispanic friend of mine was dragged by a cab driver around 100 feet along the road. Whilst getting patched up 2 strapping NYPD bods pulled up and started accusing him of planning to rob the cab. I told them what I’d witnessed and they ignored me. They threatened to arrest him so I asked for the officers details to report him and was threatened with being arrested on the grounds of obstructing a police officer. My schoolfriend who I was staying with had to push me away to side ally and gave me a lecture on “local customs”. Leon was let off with a warning.

There isn't a simple explanation it's multi faceted Karen, we have right wingers and left wingers we have far right wingers and far left wingers, it's the far bits I am opposed to.

Just have a gander at the Guardian piece considering it's a very much left leaning paper and they aren't too happy with the far left mob, it's a given they don't like the far right mob either.
It hasn't been left leaning since 2013 when it was told off after the Snowden affair and subsequently fell in line. Their anti Corbyn stance in recent times being a clear measure of this.

Can everybody on this thread please read comments from the last 20 pages, how many are about the actual issue in America?

Good question. Bad answer would be none of them. No dead black man in Minneapolis, no white racists attacking police in London.

It’s really not, as you still have not answered the question, but never mind.
You are simply wrong IMO - in what you are seeking to achieve by asking the question that you did. You seem to be seeking to use distraction to embroil me in a topic different to what I have commented on.

I have posted by views on the subject:

……..

I am very straight-forward.

I loathe utterly every aspect of the premeditated actions of those that were looking for trouble today - thick cunts

I loathe utterly every aspect of the (likely) premeditated actions of those that used last weeks events to cause violence - exploitative cunts

I have a great degree of contempt for the self-entitled attitudes of those that chose to disregard the social-distancing rules in these crucial times and therefore demonstrate their contempt for the safety and lives of others - selfish cunts

There should not be any inference that I have any level of support for the cunts that were out looking for trouble today and demonstrate that by expressing my views as stated above - that is a false thing to suggest

Absolutely - very straight-forward - and factual

I don't know (for sure - but can suspect) why you would want to distract from the scope of my easily understood views

The Guardian is not a left wing newspaper, its a liberal newspaper. There is only 1 left wing newspaper, the Morning Star.

Yes, I think the thread needs splitting to separate the events in the UK and the US. Will do it as soon as I can, but it’ll be pretty time consuming so bear with me!

Depends where your (one’s) centre is Russ.

How the hell are you anyway old chap?

I am ok pal, all things considered. I trust you are too.

In regards to my centre, the Guardian is a paper for cunts and the Observer which i had bought all my life is now just as bad, they are now both papers of the metro centric remain liberals. I was never a Guardian reader, i always bought the Torygraph because i liked the cryptic crossword and the sports coverage but now i only buy the venerable Morning Star, of which i am proud to be part of the owners co-operative. I still get the NS every week and the book they have just brought out of their greatest articles is absolutely magnificent, i highly recommend it to everybody. It has articles from Orwell to Naomi Klien in it as well as H,G,Wells interview with Uncle Joe Stalin. Utterly fascinating.

I was cycling though London yesterday and came across the outskirts of the protest, you could tell it was going to get nasty.

One thing I'd say that people here need to stop using, particularly "Mexico". The black kids doing the violence yesterday are not "far left" activists. These are gangs, from fucking rough estates around London who are hardened criminals a lot of them. I saw a few of them roaming around the area and could tell that they were likely going to try and pick a few stragglers off. It's disgusting behaviour and it's ugly, but it's also the cold hard reality of the situation.

It's mental that some people seem desperate to equate the BLM protests with that embarrassing shitshow yesterday from Tommy Robinson's herd of fucking morons.

There's no comparison whatsoever to be made between the two movements; one is a just cause, the other is just a bunch of pissed-up, braindead scumbags spoiling for a fight.

Afua Hirsch sums up perfectly the sheer stupidity of trying to equate these two positions:

There were thugs on both sides out for trouble yesterday just accept it.

I find it amazing just how often I hear someone mention that they have bought the Torygraph for the cryptic crossword - no matter their personal politics.

Not for a lot of years now - but I often bought it for just that reason - and in those days I was a dyed in the wool Labour voter

I wonder if they ever realised what they had going for them with that

More wankers out protesting today I see.

60,000 excess deaths and the message still isn't sinking in.
64,000+ now mate!

The most important thing at present is the virus. Even though there have been some easing of restrictions, people still should be staying at home as much as possible and absolutely fucking not going out in crowds!

I wish there was a way where everyone out in crowds could be spotted, fined heavily and made to quarantine at home for 14 days after their selfish actions. Unfortunately, all these selfish cunts will get away with it because we don’t have anything in place that’ll enforce these things on them all. I wonder if the nation will get away with it by avoiding a load more deaths because of these selfish fuckers’ actions?

Even if you’re a peaceful person who felt strongly about the BLM, if you were out in a crowd not social distancing, you were being irresponsible. Just as irresponsible as everyone on each side who were beating up Police officers or vandalising things.

SARS-CoV-2 doesn’t make a distinction between people holding up a sign and shouting “Black Lives Matter”, attacking Police officers, trying to get at the cenotaph to spray graffiti and burn the Union Jack, threatening people having a picnic in a park and singing “Tommy Robinson”, or just going out for a day out because they’ve been bored at home for a few months (which I’d argue is 80% of everyone who’s been out at any of these demonstrations in the last few weeks).
