George Floyd murder / Derek Chauvin guilty of murder

A few vids on Daniel Prude who died March 30 and only just recently released footage.

*Be aware the footage of Prude's treatment may be distressing to some*

Mayor Lovely Warren on her part(short version)

I'm not sure why the suspension with pay for the officers was adequate in this case.

Tashyra Prude's personal view

Tim Black commentary

Protests in New York followed yesterday just to add to other protests.

Not oversimplifying, i'm cutting throught the narrative that MLK was hated by every single white American and that his murder was revered by same said communities.

MLK's dream was realised when people began treating others by the content of their character. The emergence of "identity Politics" in recent years has tarnished his vision as people once again have reverted to the concept of "white and black" instead of "American Citizens", ironically fuelled by the entitled, white middle classes.
So far nobody on this thread has stated what you call the narrative.

Do you honestly believe that white Americans had no part to play in realising or resonating with MLK's message? How do you counter for the numerous millions of Black Americans who reject or are critical of the current BLM "Violence is the only answer" movement? A narrative that MLK was opposed towards.
Many in that 'movement'.?

I've heard of this organisation before but only as b(l)ackground noise, but it looks like more and more Black people are [rightly] looking to defend themselves.

Equality and the Second Amendment, right?

And down the rabbit hole, we go...

Haha - LA as well. Can't wait to hear what the usual nra, white supremacist, doomsday prepper crowd have to say! As you say equality and second ammendment, what's not to love?

A BLM rally that was set to begin this evening in the city I currently live (Portland, Maine) was just called off by the organisers because they had received so many threats of violence from far-right militants and Trump Supporters (many of which verified by city police) and the city police, in connection with the city council, gave a press conference yesterday that essentially proactively “both sides” the demonstration and the potential consequences of it, alluding to the fact that they would protect both the BLM protestors’ and legally armed counter protestors‘ right to gather. From the BLM statement, the city and police’s claims they were working closely with the organisers were completely false.

It was set to happen two blocks from my flat at the police HQ (we live in the middle of the city)—I can literally step out of our building, walk 50 feet to the left, and stand on an embankment that gives me a vantage point to the plaza in front of the HQ and the major road intersection it rests on where there have been protests before. I actually have video of those protests that led to confrontations with the police and many arrests.

Given it was so publicised, even though the leadership will no longer be there, I have no doubt at all there will still be a gathering of BLM supporters and the armed counter protestors this evening and things will likely kick off this time, as well.

So, this happened on Oct 29th1984 to a disabled woman named Eleanor Bumpurs in New York. An eviction-murder where the police used a 12 gauge shotgun shooting the victim twice.

Of course no charges were ever made, but the point is how nothing has changed or even has regressed in action/ plans addressed by police top brass.

It's really surprising and not, at the same time...

I hate to bring up Trump on the BLM thread, but I have to say that many of these BLM protests are playing into the hands of the hands of his racist base in that they all so often end up in violent confrontations that they can claim 'radical left wing activists' are the problem. and 4 more years of Trump is the solution.

Fair play to the organisers in this instance for having the sense to call this off. I hope EVERYONE from the BLM movement sees sense and stays away. That way the RW trouble makers will have no one to fight against except themselves.

It's not a claim though. They often are a problem. Look at Rochester. At best a bunch of cops messed up and their chiefs try to cover it up. This is legitimate grounds for Protest. But disrupting a restaurant business, burning a shop and smashing cars ARE NOT legitimate. And no one should excuse it under the umbrella of "they are opposinf police brutality.'

If X does something wrong, and Y responds by beating Z who had nothing to do with what X did. Y's actions are by definition, an act of Terror.

So we need to stop pretending people burning businesses are not a problem. They absolutely are. And the Media's pretense isn't resonating for a reason. Everyone ( I mean most people) can see through it.

Either way, I think these Protests, riots and looting are all being purposely sponsored by outside forces.

You really have to be blind to not see the escalation of violence.

First it was just I Protest this.
Then it was we want to be able to kneel without others questioning us
Then it was, you have to kneel with us or we'll question you.
Now it's, we are angry, so you can't live your life. And you must do as we request.

Now you have guys who killing people and hoping to start a war.
