George Floyd murder / Derek Chauvin guilty of murder

Yeh I deleted it because what I really want to say that I think it's pretty disgusting that you've called the man who was murdered "scum", "pond life", "a violent criminal", and yet the strongest words you've mustered to describe the man who murdered him - which incidentally was the second time he killed someone during his time as a cop - are "a nasty piece of work." It tells me all I need to know about you.

I give not a single fuck what you think about me

I’m pretty sure if someone had shot the copper following him murdering George Floyd he would have described the copper as pond life;-)

i said I don’t think he meant to kill him, I’m also not justifying what happened I’m saying you’re more likely to experience heavy handed treatment from police if you’re a known armed criminal

Sounds like you are to me and a few others I think.

Plenty of people have 'colourful' pasts, some are more colourful than others.

On this day, as a free man, he was upended for suspicion of passing a fake $20 bill.
He was then killed by an officer who didn't give a single fuck about Floyd's welfare and slowly choked him to death.

What Floyd might or might not have done in the past (and he clearly wasn't an angel by all accounts) has no relevance to his execution by the police that day.

If it makes you feel better about his demise by saying 'his death was bad but he had previously done X Y and Z' then knock yourself out, but it's not a good look.

If someone behaves like scum their whole lives if they are wrongly murdered it doesn’t change who they were

I’m allowed to say I think that paintings of his face all over walls and pavements is wrong and will be traumatic to all the victims who’ve been face to face with him with a gun pointed at them

if he was still alive and his crimes and past were on the news everyone on here would be calling him every name under the sun

but because a bad cop killed him we paint pictures of him everywhere and burn down cities

if you and others feel I’m justifying it that’s up to you, I think I’m saying you choose that life you run the risk of these encounters
You say what he was arrested for that day, do you not think police have a system where they can read someone’s past and might have known George flyod was an armed criminal ?
also “ what he might or might not have done “ ?
It’s not an opinion of mine he served jail time for armed robbery and armed home invasion

Was he armed?

But nothing he was doing has the death penalty prescribed as a punishment and he wasn't armed and dangerous at the time of his death. Where does the line get drawn?
I was only addressing your statement that attempted to downplay the severity of Floyd's crimes and the impact such will have had on the people he chose to terrorise.

I'm not downplaying them, I just think they're irrelevant compared to what happened that day when looking at the police officers actions.
