GERMANY v HUNGARY
KO 20:00 (BST) at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany. Capacity 20%, approximately 14,000 fans.
Coverage begins at 19:30 (BST) on BBC 2. No information on the guide other than commentary from Steve Bower and Robbie Savage.
Referee: Sergei Karasev (RUS)
A game that’s had more talking points off of the pitch after UEFA declined the application from Munich Council to light the stadium up for pride. That’s led to teams all over Germany lighting their stadiums up. Germany finally clicked in their 2nd game versus Portugal where they played them off of the park for a lot of that game. There are question marks about their defence, they have conceded 3 but that’s probably expected in this group. If they avoid defeat they are through, a win could put them top, a narrow loss may put them through too. Hungary surprised everybody getting a draw versus France, they could have won that game but were done by a long ball and some poor defending. They also kept it 0-0 with Portugal for 83mins. It’ll be interesting to see how good they are away from Budapest. They have to win to go through.
Goal scorers so far:
Own Goal (Germany) – 2
Kai Haverts (Germany & Chelsea) – 1
Robin Gosens (Germany & Atalanta) – 1
Attila Fiola (Hungary & Fehervar) – 1
PORTUGAL v FRANCE
KO 20:00 (BST) at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary. Full Capacity
Coverage begins at 19:30 (BST) on BBC 1. No information on the guide other than commentary from Guy Mowbray and Jermaine Jenas.
Referee: Antonio Mateu Lahoz (ESP)
Game of the round in this group once again. Worth bearing in mind a draw will put both teams through. 2 teams that I think can play a lot better than they have been doing. Portugal got exposed at the back by Germany and were probably lucky to only concede 4. They have scored 5 goals though. France have been underwhelming so far, took an own goal to beat Germany and a long ball from the keeper to draw to Hungary. Not sure the Mbappe, Benzema, Griezmann combination is working up front. Everyone’s still waiting for them to hit top gear.
Goal scorers so far:
Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal & Juventus) – 3
Diogo Jota (Portugal & Liverpool) – 1
Raphael Guerreiro (Portugal & Borussia Dortmund) – 1
Antoine Griezmann (France & Barcelona) – 1
Own goal (France) – 1
