Group C as it stands:
This looks like a cracking game on paper, little bit of rivalry in this one; quite a few Polish players are (or have been) based in the Bundesliga, so there’s a few interesting battles in this one.
In the opening game we seen a classic example of German efficiency, they took the lead with a great header from a great free kick and then saw out the game, countering in the 90th minute to win 2-0. Star player from the opening game has to be Toni Kroos, who was at the heart of everything for Germany and may need to be man marked in this one. Neuer and Boateng deserve a mention, I thought both had great games and they shown why they were one of the favourites with the spine of Neuer, Boateng, Kroos, Ozil and Muller.
Goal scorers so far: Mustafi (1), Schweinsteiger (1).
Poland started of their Euro 2016 campaign with a decent win over N. Ireland. They were easily the better team over 90 minutes and probably should have won the game more than 1-0. Milik had a decent game, creating a couple of good chance for himself and took his goal really well. Poland’s number 21, Kapustka deserves a mention, has scored 2 goals in 7 caps, he’s only 19 years old but was everywhere for Poland going forward. He’s certainly one to keep an eye on.
Goal scorers so far: Milik (1)
The key battle on the pitch has to be Lewandowski against Boateng, both Bayern Munich teammates so will be use to how each other play. Should be an interesting battle, Poland need Lewandowski to show up. The H2H in the last 4 games between the 2 sides reads; 2 draws, 1 Polish win and 1 German win, both wins coming in qualifying for this tournament.
Don’t know whether to go with a draw or a German win in this one.
