It's overlooked, and instead the shitstorm is generated around Rooney saying a few naughty words. Jesus wept.

Bad challenge, and far from the first one Essien has done.

Did he receive a yellow even?

Regarding Shrek, unfortunately he is a rolemodel for thousands of kids and he has a responsibility to present himself in a professional manner at all times. The type of behaviour he displayed was totally unacceptable and was nothing short of a disgrace,no one wants to witness it and hopefully, and rightfully,he will charged with disrepute.

Nope, he didn't get a yellow for that tackle. If that Stoke player's studs had been stuck in the ground, that was potentially a leg breaking tackle. Very lucky that his foot was off the turf slightly.

As for Rooney being a role model, he really shouldn't be. He shags around his pregnant wife, smokes, pisses in alleys, shags grannies and all that; why on earth would parents call him a role model?

What I don't like, personally, is fans that feel that they have a right to abuse a player and his family for 90 minutes, then get all self-righteous when this sort of thing happens.

Then a retrospective ban should follow - somehow i doubt it will.....

Like it or not,Shreks employment and ability makes him a rolemodel,an individual in his position simply cannot behave in such a manner - The opposition crowd is there to evoke such a reaction, right or wrong, that won't change as it would be impossible to do so.

Shrek is a repeat offender, and i know it's easy to say where emotions are concerned but he has to learn to ignore the abuse and rise above it.

Was thinking whilst reading that article that if the FA decided to use any photo of Rooney in an England kit, surely he couldn't stop them due to the fact he chose to wear it. If he didn't turn up to a comercial shoot then fine, but if he wants to play for England, there is nothing he can do about his image during a game being shown can there?
