i really would like this to happen next year!

you see it in places like germany and argentina best, with sections of the stands containing giant flags.

if the club or the fans could organise this it would look great cos no other team in england have a flag section.

they dont all have to be the same as well, they can be all sorts of designs and i dont know if anyone saw the benfica v dippers game in portugal, there was a huge banner with cardozo's face on it.

also it would look wicked when we score, if they are behind the goals. flags and ticker tape next season please city! (and a couple of trophys wouldnt go a miss either!!)

one of these for starters: (cant get the picture on soz)

I remember watching Boca at River Plate last year and they unfurled a flag that covered the whole away end. Looked amazing.

-- Tue Apr 13, 2010 4:38 pm --

Bolton have a decent sized one they have at home games. Middlesborough also have one for home games. Chelsea and Sunderland sometimes have one for away games. Be class if we could get this off the ground.

I'd love to see City full of flags, make Dolefield look minor league, and we could have a different idea for each one, whether it be for tne Shit, the Goat, Bell - Lee - Summerbee, you name it.

What has happened to the Blue Alliance idea? Has that died off?

Its a group like that should be organising things like the flags and the ticker tape etc, on a regular basis. If its done by the club it just seems tacky really

Oxford United have better flags than us, sad but true.
I don't give a toss if we have hankie-sized flags, as long as we're doing the business on the pitch.

This is true, it's just a shame that all the great ideas that appear on here often fail to materialize. To be fair though it's probably easier to sort stuff like that out on a smaller scale.

The best flag/banner I've ever seen was at Estadio Vicente Calderon which was, if comparing to the CoMS, about as big as from the top of the third tier down to the bottom tier on either the east or west stand! Can never find any pics of this though, and it was on sky!

In that game - think it was a Madrid derby - the commentator said something along the
lines of Atletico fans considered themselves the Manchester City of Spain!

I love the flags some European clubs have especially Schalke.
