So with regards to @Ric 's tweet, what's the most giddy you've been over a City signing?
I'd say mine was Clive Allen
No Internet in those days kids. I was at work and as always, Piccadilly Radio was blasting through the warehouse and Clive Allen signing for City was the headline news

Was delighted when we signed Allen. IIRC he was about 28 and only a couple of seasons earlier he was scoring for fun for spurs. Didnt quite work out as Id hoped and once Machin left he didnt seem to fit in with Kendall then Reid, what might have been...

I’d have to join Ric, I’m 45 & thought I’d grown out of it :) Haaland is gonna be massive, Tevez a close second and the very start of piss boiling, Keith Curle third, more for the fee than anything, remember thinking £2.5M wow! City are back, highest for a defender at the time, Shearer only went for a million more the following season, shit maybe we where the original transfer fee fluffers

I remember getting supper giddy about signing Samaras. He looked like prime fat Ronaldo on YouTube and signings of any quality were few and far between in them days. How disappointed I was...

Mick Channon back in the day, England star, record transfer, fans favorite, what could possibly go wrong!!!

Channon spent more time on his ass and talking about his friggin horses than he did playing football.
