Was feeling a bit rough last few days, thought I had tonsillitis but after struggling to breathe due to swollen glands and throat. So I nipped into A and E (a mere 4 hour wait to see doc), anywho just was told had Glandular Fever, not allowed to do much for a while.

Anybody else had this before if so how long were you feeling crappy for ?

Was meant to be going Leicester game on Sun then the Wolves games but will I be more chirpy by then ?

It's shite, stays with you for donkeys, often lying dormant waiting to rear it's very ugly head on random occaions and the best bit - no treatment.

I contracted it about 3 years ago, still have bouts of exhaustion, dizziness, lethargy and lack of energy/motivation.Sorry to be the bearer.....

Had it a few years ago with jaundice at same time, not very pleasant at all.Jaundice went after about 2 weeks but by god did the glandular fever linger on.Youll be tired for months after,i was off work for 6 months because of fatigue.Best of luck and get well soon mate.

That's real bad news, feel sorry for you tbh.

I had it well over a year ago, similar thing - went docs with tonsillitus, took blood test, told me I had gladular fever.

I was pretty damn ill with tonsillitus/flu type thing for a 2-3 weeks, but every time there's a cold or something similar going around, I'll get it.

It kills your immune system basically, so after a few good nights out or festivals (too much booze, not enough sleep, shite food etc) it can proper take the wind out of your sails for a few days.

All the best, take it easy

Yep, had it myself. Diagnosed by the dentist when I went in complaining of toothache. He said nothing wrong with my teeth but my glands were up like balloons.

Kept working through it though and it seemed to come in waves. Some of the time felt okay and at others absolutely drained. Some nights after work had to crawl up the stairs. Bouts get less regular over time but it does recur from time to time but not with the same ferocity.

Just take it easy and look after yourself, as someone said, it gets to your immune system.
