Weird that I moved from Didsbury to Qatar and managed to be further away from Islamic Extremists.

This biggest threat in Didsbury is some middle class southerner beating you with a Guardian newspaper whilst their stay at home mom spouse throws Waitrose lentils at you.
Thought you were laying off the politics mate?

I didn't rule out demographics ;)

While its deeply concerning what is happening in society, and,as you say,on our doorstep......its equally satisfying to learn our counter terrorism units are very much on the ball and aware of these threats,i just hope they continue to be one step ahead of these shit bags.

Above anything it shows just how much the Muslim community is vigilant and supporting the police despite what the EDL wants us all to believe.

The problem is you can be hauled in for just looking at the wrong website these days. The Thought Police are alive and well.

Or even thinking about looking at the BandQ website.

Surely the story below this one on the beeb site should be more of a concern to Mancunians;

A murder investigation has begun after a man was stabbed in an attack at a house in Greater Manchester.
Police were called to Claybank Street, Heywood, at about 17:45 BST, following reports two people had been assaulted.
A 52-year-old man was found with stab wounds and later died in hospital. A 37-year-old woman, also at the house, suffered facial injuries.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said they believed the attack was "an isolated incident".
Det Ch Insp John Harris said: "A man has tragically been killed and we are working hard to locate the offender.
"The news a man has been murdered, coupled with the police presence at the address, will most likely cause some concern to residents.
"We will have officers in and around the area should any residents wish to come and talk to us or pass on any information they may have about this terrible incident."

So does the fact that two people have been arrested preclude the possibility that there may be one ,tens, hundreds or even thousands of undiscovered people out there still plotting acts of terrorism?

This problem is getting worse not better and I feel we need to be much more vigilant and sceptical about certain communities.

and despite what anyone says Longsight is a problem area.

Longsight has a very ethnically diverse population(polite way of saying it's a Ghetto).

According to the 2011 UK census, 72.9% of the population is from non-white ethnic groups.

The problem of paedophiles and exploration is far from limited to any religion or ethnic group and it has been a problem from the very top of the foot chain down to suggest otherwise is abhorrent? Or are you saying every white city fan should be held responsible for Stuart hall and everyone in the media responsible for saville.

That comment is pretty undisguised EDL shite and this board should be better than that!

W12 has a fair point, the Muslim grooming gangs are exactly that , bringing the EDL into it is a smokescreen.

The point I thing Ealing is making is that there are other, non-Muslim, grooming gangs out there too, for example the Catholic Church has one or two priests not adversed to a little underage sex with boys therefore does that make all Catholics untrustworthy and law breakers?
